What does the 1006 have for barrel?

The Chrony numbers have been less than my Match both times I tried it. Given the Match is a shorter barrel what has the 1006 got? EAA sucks on letting you know exactly what the Match has but may be Polygonal.

Just look.  If it has lands and grooves, it isn't "geometric".  Hammer forged barrels are unique to only a couple mfg's.

Only 3 common types.  Broach (traditional cut), button (later technology, high performance (rifle$$) cut), and hammer forged (polygonal, like Glock).  Look, it should be obvious.  If it's "cut", it isn't like a Glock, and will have traditional lands/grooves.  Most likely, traditional broach cut.  More important than the rifle cut with a pistol, is the twist ratio.  You can measure that when pushing your cleaning brush through.

Rifling is in a different direction and the Match barrel is different inside.

I have always read the match was polygonal.

Given the time during which they were made I would bet the S&W is button rifled.

Broach cut referes to a rod that is pulled thru the bore which has cutter or cutters to cut the rifling...
Straight button cut is the same basiclly...
