Should you rack a shotgun for home defense?

If I rack mine I'd just be throwing a live round out. The only warning sound from mine will be the "click" of the safety.

Throughout my tactical training and in discussions with attorneys THEY ALL have said no warnings (shots or sounds) and keep firing (ONLY as a true last resort) until the person is down.

That will be my operating premise if ever needed.
