I just picked up a new Tac II full size 10mm. I remember reading in the past that the stock recoil spring was weak and should be replaced. I seem to recall reading recently, but can't find it now, that RI had changed the recoil spring weight and maybe the hammer spring also. The springs on this new gun feel pretty heavy to me but I admit I know almost nothing about 1911's. Does anyone know the current stock recoil and hammer spring weights on these? Also, will the Hogue G10 Piranha grips work on these guns with the ambi safety? All help is appreciated!

A flat bottom firing pin stop helps a lot and I run a 18.5# recoil spring and a 25# mainsping in my full size. No idea on the grips.

I run the same springs at 10mmFan posted, along with a flat bottom firing pin stop.

Thanks! I emailed RIA today and got an autoreply saying the guy was out of town and would reply when he got back.

I got a reply today from Arnel Bernardo. He confirmed that the factory springs were 20 recoil and 23 mainspring.

I just received mine back after service, and they installed a 20# recoil and 25# main.

Wonder what mine came with if they say they fixed it with the above.
