Dan Wesson PM 7-10mm ejection issues

Anyone had problems with Dan Wesson PM-7-10 stove pipes with brass jammed lengthwise in the slide?  An unusually high number of the ejected spent brass have case mouth damage.

Many of the 1911 styles have to have a specific amount of extractor tension to properly hold the case rim.  The extractor could have been damaged or bent to be out of spec.

This can occur by placing a round in the chamber and letting the slide go forward to have the extractor jump or hop over the case rim.  They are designed to be fed from the magazine and slide up in to battery.

Build up of carbon and soot can cause the extractor to not pivot in its notch, it may require a good cleaning and proper lubrication to restore function.

Another source of the issue is the ejector being damaged, not kicking the brass out of the port.  Or enough slide rearward movement to strike the ejector with enough force to kick the spent brass out.

Holy crap those are mangled. The worst I had were small dents.

When these happened I think I was running a 23 lb recoil spring.  The brass was not being held at all by the extractor and when the ejector hit the brass it would just spin in the action.  Action would close on it and ram the brass into the barrel hood.
