Does anyone else find it a little hard to rack the slide on their witness , with the 20# spring installed ? May be it's because I'm an old man .  The way the slide is made with the groves reversed makes for a good tight set up , but it doesn't give you much to grip .  May be it's just me , and I need more practice .

Are you punching the slide with your pistol hand?

Sorry for my ignorance , but I don't understand what you mean .

A girl did a good video of it. I will dig it up for you.

Here you go:

It's real easy when you use your pistol hand as the pusher and your off-hand to basically just clutch the slide.

Here is another good one. I like the Women videos for these, because they do have a little more difficulty with it.

Intercooler , thanks for the help , and the videos .    My problem doesn't seem to be that I am not strong enough to rack the slide . It's more of there isn't as much slide to grip on the witness , as my 1911 , and my FNX .   It is a snap when I do it like in the video .  I have to adjust my grip of the slide different than what I have done in the past with my 1911s.

Thanks again you have been a big help .

I use the front slide serrations on mine.

Same but a 1911 is much easier to get a grip on.

Just have to figure them out. I used the safety/decocker on the 1006. Worst for me is the XD which I cup the slide.

I saw a xd with a charging handle on it like an ar and that looked great for my wife.

The problem I have with my Stock II is , when I grip the back of the slide the wide sharp edge of the adjustable sight digs into the palm of my hand  .  Some low profile night sights should correct that problem . I don't have any problem with the my other witness with the low profile fixed sights .

It's sounding like the Match might have been a better fit for you and it also has an excellent rail for a laser or light.
