Initially I thought this powder to be Silhouette in the HST but after looking at a sample from the current can I have, I don't believe it is.
The trouble with this is, is CFE Pistol and Autocomp are similar in appearance. However hodgdon lists a 6.8gr charge of CFE for 934fps and Autocomp at 6.6gr for 871fps. So for specs wise if it was any of those two powders, both would be +p loads and the CFE should have around ~950fps velocity....oh the irony!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o

To me it looks like AutoComp in your picture, and it does fit the profile and yield.
Thanks for your pull-down information.

Interesting seeing how Silhouette is the same as Winchester Action Pistol (WAP) I have to wonder if they are still using WAP in the commercial ammo.

Seeing that flaked powder with the off color white flakes, that does look very much like BE-86.

I wouldn't doubt that they are, I'm surprised with how good wap/silhouette is that Winchester discontinued it in favor of autocomp. While autocomp is a very good forgiving powder, the range wap/silhouette is good for has an edge on autocomp.

As for the +p I have no doubt that it is BE-86. The load data published from alliant fits so well. As for the claimed velocity Idk. I took these rounds out of service due to age and setback they incurred. I bought these in mid 2010 so there's an indication as to how long that powder has been around.

I guess I could resize them, replace the powder and test couldn't I lol :-)

Yes resize without depriming, run the expander as normal, replace the powder and bullet...test to see.  ;D

Shadow, If I don't work this weekend I may talk to the wife about letting me go out do some testing :) last night I came home and pulled the depriming rod out of my sizing die and sized the cases.

On another note, when you have a wife who is into photography, don't take pictures of powder for pull downs, leave memory card in a computer and change the lens. She seen a buck in the back yard with 2 fawns? Went to get camera, the zoom lens not being on it, she changes it goes outside to take a picture.....no memory card inserted.

To say that I only got my a$$ chewed out is putting it lightly!!!!!!!!!!!  :o

Oh! Ooo! Not nice for wifey to be upset!  While I can place my CF cards in the multi card reader for my computer, I use the cable to upload.  However some of the new cameras like Intercooler just got can use WiFi to upload...interesting camera he got as well.  The Nikon 900 Coolpics with built in 2000 zoom, amazing camera. 8)

Nice! I think I'll do the cable method from now on! We have the Nikon D3300 24mp body and 18-55mm, 55-200mm and 55-300mm lenses. Plus a lens baby and a wide angle lens on the way :-)

On a side note I pulled 4 more of the ranger t +p's all had 7.0gr Be-86. I sized, flared and recharged them with a fresh load of 7gr be-86 that I have and tested them today.

The results were slower than the advertised velocity by Winchester.

927fps low
928fps
930fps
923fps
935fps high

I only had 3 more I reseated the bullets to correct length.

926fps
932fps
924fps

The velocity had a close spread and the factory cartridge versus the replaced cartridges.

The advertised was 990 but is shy ~60-66 fps in my test today.

Gun used was a Springfield Armory 1911 Range Officer 5" Barrel
