Overall the article is favorable to the 10mm, though it is kinda short on factual data.  The most cogent point is probably a rational explanation for the increased popularity of the cartridge in recent years.

Mike Branson is a Gun Writer, he writes to sell guns for the people selling them!  His data about the S&W10xx series is flawed and they have handled the full power 10mm very well and they still hold there own with their robust construction.

Most of his story is about his friends experiences with their various 10mm guns, not his own experience, except maybe with the Rock Island 1911  :(...Just like most Gun Writers its all about the 1911, like it is the only gun period. ::)  Even though he mentions Glocks, there were no mention of the EAA's.  He does mention the VLTOR Weapons Systems Bren Ten (VAPORWARE) as yet another release date push back to 2016, yea wait for that to happen, they have screwed the pooch with the blatant lies and deceptions to the very interested clientele since before 2008...

And then the picture of the PPU casing at the forefront of his article, Why not a Double Tap headstamp where Mike McNett put his time and investments into breathing new life into the cartridge for those who didn't handload.  Then the competition like SwampFox, Buffalo Bore and Underwood who maintained a level of performance and function that some loved as they had their guns setup to handle the power, while others tended to hate the excessive power because they and their guns couldn't handle it for whatever reasons, like lack of chamber support, recoil systems and positive lock up in battery.

While I appreciate him plugging the 10mm as a cartridge, he does so for particular guns and the money and not for pleasure and the real life experience that a true 10mm enthusiast has come to know and appreciate...we as a community have done more to educate people about the cartridge and the guns that shoot it.  :D

Long live our favorite cartridge the 10mm and the firearms that allow us to bring the power to bare!  ;D

Those original 1076 pistols had some kinks to be worked out just like many new pistols coming to the market for the first year.

Once the kinks were worked out, the pistols were fine. I wish I could get my hands on a 1076 and a 1006.

You are correct......he is a writer.

Maybe I need to write an article on those pink Cadillacs; although I don't own one, I do know folks who do.  ;)
Some days it's just good to be lucky; rather than just good looking!

Am I saying a new production Rock Island Armory gun is made better than a real Colt from 30 years ago? Well gee, it just might be. Colt hasn't been resting on their laurels either.

My Colt Anaconda from the early 1990's was a complete POS. Colt made some real junk 25-30 years ago.
