Witness aftermarket grips, rod, and a screw question.

Ordered and just received the aftermarket aluminum grips, grip screws, and guide rod for the Witness Elite Stock II. Grips don't look quite as good on the pistol as the OEM wood, however I simply like the wood look and is purely personal. They are very nicely finished and have more of a 'sporty' look. They are thinner and do allow for a better hold. The guide rod fitment and finish were excellent. The grip screws simply suck! They are not as low profile as one is lead to believe and the machine work for the torx head is horrible. It claims that a T10 is required. It does not fit and the machine work is very sloppy. I could not use any Torx head and went with a different type. I cannot torque them down any further without boogering the head up further. FYI the heavier recoil springs have not arrived yet.

Does anyone have the ability to tell me the exact dimensions and thread specs for the grips screws? I would like to go a different route and may have to order them from a non handgun source.

3.5mm is the size. Do you have any pictures of your setup?

How it looks now

If you zoom in you can see the screw head I referred to

What it looks like with the original grips

I don't know how many here have experience with a CZ97. The original wood grip feels like the original with wood grips and the updated version with the aluminum grips feels like this one now. I have average sized hands but really long fingers. Larger grips put my finger in a better natural position, but for some reason I shoot better with the normal or medium sized...go figure. Thank you for the size info and I will definitely try your source for screws, thank you!

I sent him an email about screws last week (http://czscrews.angelfire.com/) and haven't received a response. Anyone else have any suggestions for a grip screw source?

from the picture it looks like you may have allen screws instead of torx screws

Torx was advertised and labeled on both the site and packaging. Allen is what I had to use to make it work. Not a good enough fit however to be able to crank them down very well..
