What grain bullets do you all use to load?  Fmj or jhp?  Do you buy in bulk? Got some power pistol and Longshot coming, wanna load up some  ammo.

I load the following currently

135 grain Nosler JHP until I run out.  I got a deal on a 250 bullet box
175 grain SWC TL.  These are a bullet I cast from Lee molds
180 grain JHP.  These are a bullet I cast from an NOE mold
200 grain Nosler JHP.  This is the bullet for my standard carry load
200 grain WFN.  These are a bullet I cast from an NOE mold
205 grain WFN.  These are a bullet I cast from a Mountain mold

As you can see the vast majority of my loading is cast bullets.  I guess you could say I buy them in bulk.  I am buying 113,000 of them on Friday when I pick up my next batch of lead.  All that lead won't be cast into my bullets though.  Most of it will be resold to a commercial casting company.

I have have been sticking with the Hornady 180 grain HAP, bought in the bulk 1,900 (worked out to about 15 cents a bullet) and a couple of the 500 count 180 grain FMJ-FP boxes.  Not the cheapest but I have always had good results with Hornady bullets.  I also grabbed several boxes of the Nosler 200 grain Sporting Handgun JHPs but have not loaded any yet (I caught them on sale).

For high volume I shoot a lot of Powerbond 180 RNFPs. I like to buy them locally with group buys, so they are economical. Great bullet. Very consistent size and weight. They also don't mind some velocities in 10mm. TJconevera.com typically has some of the best prices online. I also shoot a fair amount of Precision Delta 180 gr bullets. They are very standard old school cup-and-core FMJs. I like to buy both in bulk, and Precision Deltas are ordered by the 2000.

My standard bullet is a Precision Bullets 185 grain coated RFN. This is my target and practice load. For real work like shooting bad guys I use a 180 grain JHP bullet.

Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

I have bought a couple Nosler 135, 150, 180 & 200g in 250 piece boxes because they where a good price... Before that the 175 Winchester Silvertips, 155 & 200g XTP bullets are ones I keep in "stock" on my bench.

I have shot a pile of plated lead in my 40's and bought 500 155 and 500 180 POLY GREEN (I call 'em Booger boolits) coated RNFP bullets to try too.

I also have a 175 Lyman and 200 WFN GC mold that I like allot.

Noslers can sometimes be sized slightly smaller, some at 0.4000" but many at 0.3990".  However the ones I measure we pulled down from loaded ammo.

If you have new in the box Noslers measure some and report back.

I've shot a fair amount of 135s and 150s. Neither 180s nor 200s though. They shoot great when they are sized .400". They have a nice square base and heal. But, like Shadow said, they can run a little under-sized. Those don't shoot as well. The 250 count boxes tend to go on a nice sale from time-to-time, and that is when I've tended to pick them up.

For a bit of fun, grab a can of 800-X and the 135s. Fireworks! That is the single most obnoxious load I have ever shot in my G20... in a good way!  :D
