It is customary to push gun seekers out of their stated budget range, or to say "you need both", etc. ;D

Yeah, we kind of got sidetracked there. I just likie 1911's They feel best in my small hand. So Glocks are out, I have never held an EAA witness, and that would leave me with like an RIA. I got mine for like $550 NIB.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Where?   Encouraging purchase of the Silverback?

I would have said talking about TWO pistols outside of his stated price range.    ???

Except I went back to the original post and saw no price range.  ???

My message is:  buy the one that sings to you .. within your price range of course.

That is correct, he didn't state a range.  But he did talk about specific models of handguns he was considering and they fall in the $600-$850 range going price on gunbroker.

Once we hit the $1350-$2000 Razorback, it seemed appropriate to me to mention the OP might have a budget, loosely defined by the pistols he had discussed in his original post.

I hope he goes with a 1911 in 10mm and posts lots of pics!

That and he did mention one model seemed a bit too rich for his blood.

Really hard to dislike a Gen 4 Glock 29 for ease of carry. I say handle one and hopefully rent one.
My elite Match is an excellent gun to shoot but it is large. Fits my hands great but is a thick fullsize gun. Also is very close to 3 pounds. Some guys have had good luck with the EAA Pcarry. Never seen or held one myself. Heard too many negatives about the EAA compact. Too bad really.

At some point I will be giving the RIA 10mm 1911s a serious look.

should be getting my Rock Island 1911 MS back from the shop by Tuesday. they said they polish the extractor and found a bump on the feed ramp so we will see how it shoots. I have a ton ammo ready to go.....crossed fingers

I didn't mention a budget...I just mentioned I liked the cost of the RIA because I'd probably buy two for $600.

I did also look at the DW 10mm as well.  I just read so many RIA owners sending them back for warranty work.  That does not give me confidence in the product.

Plenty of guys have issues with 1911 from other mfg's.  Given relative sales volumes I am not sure that RIA have issues at a higher rate, just more of them sold, so more absolute numbers.

In any case RIA certainly seems to stand behind them.

But you will be sorry if you sell it.  Ask me how I know. :(
