I wish i had quickload, but SWMBO has nixed any and all reloading/firearms related purchases until next year.

Until then, I was hoping someone could help me out.

I am trying to figure out load data for LeveRevolution powder and the .357 Herret, which is a shortned 30-30 nexked up to .358.

Lever works very well in both 30-30 and .35 Remington. I think it would be a steller powder for the .357 Herret.

Let me know what datum you need and I will provide it. From bullet dimensions weights to cartridge dimensions, water capacity etc.

Thank you in advance

I did a search or two and came up empty...  I looked over some of the 30-30 data that was using it...

Here is a guy testing IMR 4227 25.0 grains near 2000fps with Hornady 158XTP

I bet these 180 grain RCBS Silhouette cast with Gas Check would be a good long range shooter

LeveRevolution powder is not in the QL program

I had been told Lever had been added to the newest update/version of Quickload, unfortunately, the person who told me this has been unreachable for about 2 months now.

Shadow, honestly, the 158gr XTP's don't shoot as accurately. I believe it is because the bore is actually .358 (mine slugs to .3585). A couple of the guys I talked to who have shot the herret forever usually paperpatch or size their lead to .361 when shooting ".357" pistol bullets (IE: standard .38/357 mag weights) The herret is more fond of 170-200gr loads. That RCBS you posted is on the bench to be tested. One of the aforementioned gentlemen cast me up 50 of them. Currently they are sized at .360. I wanted to test them with Lever. A gentleman over at Castboolits did pressure testing in the 30-30 and someone else did it with the .35Rem, both came up with the pressure wave peak at 14 inches as measured from the breach. That would put the peak hitting just as the bullet was leaving the barrel on my TC. That was with both cast and jacketed bullets.

Maybe coating the Silhouette bullet with some poly powdered paint and the loading may improve things with cast bullet as the thickness of the paint adds to the bullets.

About the only fault I can find with quickload is the lack of some of the newer powders. There is a way of making powder profiles but it's a little complicated and requires information I don't know where to get. Most of the old stand by powders are there though along with some of the newer ones such as cfe 223, but a lot are missing.

Shadow, the silhouette bullet is not a problem to shoot in the diameter I have it. The problem seems to be with the smaller jacketed "Pistol" components rather than the larger "Rifle" components. Or as cast bullets sized to .358 which is also common of the "pistol" weight bullets so they can be loaded in 9mm/.380 as well as .357/.38

wadcutter, Yea, speaking with Sean and a few others about the QuickLoads program it doesn't have IMR800X and several other powders in their database.  I had written people at QL asking about this and they said they didn't know if or when they would add or update.

Pinsandscrews, I don't know if my Silhouette mold will throw them at 0.360"  I'm about 0.3585" or 0.3590" with wheel weights.  I have to seat them differently (above the cannelure) for them to feed from my Marlin Lever.
I am loading them with 11.0 grains of Blue Dot crimped in the cannelure and shooting them from my S&W Mod. 19 at 1300 fps...

There are a lot of older powders QL doesn't have.
