I know it has been announced, I am not sure if they are available or not. I have not seen one in any of the 6 local gun stores within a half hour of me. There is also a lack of reviews on youtube. Just wondering if anyone had one and is having good luck with them. Also, how is the price in your area to compare to if they ever do come into fruition in my area.

My LGS (upstate NY) quoted me $640 and has some on order.

They should be in soon, but my dealer friend has not seen any yet nor can the glock rep tell him anything(as of last weekend, have not talked to dealer since then)

I ordered one direct from Glock under their Blue Label Program in mid February. Expected delivery is 90-120 days for handguns under this program and as luck would have it, the western region Glock rep paid a visit to Fairbanks a few weeks ago. He told a guy I know who works at a local gunshop they would begin shipping the G40 in June. We'll see...

Civilians will get the guns first, then the Blue Label program will come out later.

LGS said it will be $50 cheaper.

I have never been a Glock guy and never owned one. But I have had an itch for trying out a 10mm for a while and the Glock seemed the easy, proven way to get started.

About the time I was getting serious about buying a 20, they announced the 40 and I put it on my "I will buy the first one I see available" list, which has been a pretty exclusive list. I don't think I have ever put a gun on that list ever before.

As luck would have it, I was in a LGS two weeks ago today and saw a used, as new 20SF on the shelf for a decent price. I looked it over and made a comment to the owner who shot me a smokin' 'out the door' price if I bought it right then and there. He does this now and then with the regulars just to see if your paying attention sometimes, and to his surprise I pulled cash out of my pocket and told him to wright it up.

I have so far shot some Hornady 180 grain critical defense through it. I liked it, but was expecting a bit more "shock and awe". I got a few boxes of Underwood in the mean time, and UPS dropped 1000 rounds of Starline brass on my porch yesterday, so I am going to be stuffing them with some AA #9 and XTP's later today to hopefully have some fun this weekend.

It has also accumulated some new sights (BattleHook night sights), a SS guide rod with a 22# Wolff spring, and a Storm Lake barrel. This is worse than a 1911 !

I don't know if I will buy a 40 when they hit the shelves now, will have to wait to handle one first.

Welcome Yetiman!!  :D

As for the price goes and who gets them....generally the LEA get the bulk of them first (includes Blue Label); then more are released to the public. Here is the current pricing through the GSSF program....the new pistolas are not listed...yet.  http://www.gssfonline.com/GSSF_Pistol_Purchase_Program_Information.pdf:

I couldn't handle it anymore. So I emailed Glock and they told me it's scheduled for June.
