Anyone had the Bar Sto Para/ Clark ramped barrel deal added to a Delta Elite?

I hope that I'm posting this question in the correct forum of this board. If not, then please be patient with me. I'm thinking about calling Bar Sto tomorrow to order a ramped barrel from them for my Colt Delta Elite, and have them modify the frame to fit the barrel, so that I can shoot full power 10mm ammo through this pistol without having to worry about the gun fragmenting in my hand, nor even case bulges from lack of barrel support.

Bar Sto gets more $$ for this barrel and modification than I paid for the entire gun. So I thought that before I go ahead and pull the trigger so to speak on this deal, I should come here and ask you guys if anyone has had this done to their D.E. pistol. If anyone has, I'm hoping that they can share how it worked out for them, and whether or not they were pleased with the results. And if there's a better option, then please feel free to set me straight. Thanks in advance.

10mmPlinker, Welcome to the forum!  If I recall even the standard Bar-Sto replacement non ramped barrels have more case support than the stock factory non ramped barrels.  The reason I am suggesting this is because some may consider the Colt's value may be compromised by having it cut for the ramped barrel?  I'm sure Bar-Sto does good work if you decide to go with the ramped cut work and barrel.  I think it is wise that you seek even more answers before you make up your mind.

There is also a fine fellow that goes by Clark's Guns http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/ that is known for great 1911 custom work.

I have a few Bar-Sto barrels for my S&W 1006 and the first was a 40S&W conversion Match Grade and the other is a 9x25Dillon conversion Match Grade which I had fitted to my gun.  Both are fine quality barrels and have great case support.

OK, thanks guys. I was under the impression that the ramped barrel for some reason provided greater support for the 10mm case, but an email reply that I just received yesterday from one of the guys at Bar Sto, seems to indicate that even their drop-in non-ramped barrels offer just as much support (as it's been implied here also). So with that in mind, I agree that it would be better to go with something like that since it would be half the cost (if not less) and wouldn't require the delta Elite to be permanently modified.

OK, please excuse my novice type question here: would it be possible for me to switch from a bushing type barrel to a bull barrel with a pistol like the Delta Elite that originally came with a bushing type barrel? If it is possible, would any modification need to be made to the gun? And with the use of bull barrels, how is the recoil spring and spring cap retained without a barrel bushing?
