So I just got my best friend into 10mm. I'm going to recommend lax to him. What are some other cheap 10mm options that don't charge horribly for shipping? Underwood is a bit overpriced for him (almost for me too).

Georgia Arms has always been good ammo for me, not that hot, but inexpensive and they seem to keep good stock levels.  I have some LAX and it is a little hotter, runs great in my guns also.  I am pretty sure they both use Starline brass, so good starter ammo for reloading!

Locally you might be able to find Remington, Armscor or PPU (PRVI Partizan) at a gun store bypassing the shipping. The PPU is available on-line at several places in the $19/box range currently. When the new Sig Sauer practice FMJ's are released, they will be about the best option out there and should be readily available in stores.

The cheapest of all is reloading. I think I calculated once I was paying $7.22 for a box of fifty.

But that was a while ago.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

^^^^^This!

The last "Great Panic" spurred me to start reloading more.  Was able to do it at well below going retail.  It's turned out to be a pretty nifty hobby.

Check out SGammo and Selway.

Georgia Arms too..

Privi is going for around $20 a box at Midwayusa. Pretty weak load but shoots reliably in my Glock 20 Gen 4.

Thanks for all the good suggestions everyone. Very well might get into reloading at some point too. Not a lot of free space in the Apt. Would be a great garage hobby later for sure.

Lee hand press takes up hardly any room at all!

It's not that cut and dry for someone starting out right now. Shortages in components will create a wall where you might find what you are looking for in stock at an ammo MFG.

My first single stage was mounted on a wooden bar stool... easy to move around as needed. That and the old snack tray made a good setup. :)

I can easily get powder and primers. Since 10mm uses the same bullets as a .40 cal S&W, a very very common round, I don't have any problems getting those. Slowly but surely the Obozo caused shortages are leveling out.

That's great for you and your location, but not everyone is that lucky.

gandog56

I'm not getting them at my location. I pretty much get it all online.
