Use MechTech without Buttstock?

I'm interested in a MechTech, but not as a carbine. I'd actually like to use the unit as a pistol for hunting. I'd never shoot without a rest as I hunt from treestands and elevated box blinds. Basically a bench rested semi auto in 10mm so to speak.

I know there are better options out there.
I know it would be odd looking/feeling.

  ... but ...

I like 10mm.
I can order direct to me.
The price is great.
Many accessories.
It gives two guns in one.
Could easily become a carbine later.

For those that have one... Is this doable? Would recoil damage the grip frame? Problems you would forsee?

Thanks in advance,

I see no strength issues.  The recoil is still being mitigated by a bunch of mass versus a pistol configuration, so this is still easier shooting on the frame than when you shoot it with the Glock upper.

Here would be the one warning.  There are some accessories that are perfectly fine on a rifle, but not on a pistol.  Without a stock you have a long barreled pistol from the BATF perspective.  So, a vertical grip on the front would put you in hot water.

If it were me, I would probably spring for the tele-stock and just keep it collapsed.  That keeps you in the legal definition of a rifle, but abbreviates the length down to only about 1-2" longer than no stock.

Here's a pic showing the two of the three collapsible Stocks

The one at the top would give you the shortest total overall length

Yeah, there's that 16" barrel on a pistol. Is that a problem? The longest barrel I have on a pistol is 15" on a Dan Wesson .357 Mag revolver. Of course I also have a 2.5". 4", 6". 8", 8" with scope mount, to go with that 15" barrel.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Thanks for the replies ... the info helps.

I don't think length of barrel is a concern for a pistol. I have seen that the total length needs to be under 26".  I certainly could be wrong on that, but I don't think I am. I'd essentially have a pistol with 2 upper assemblies. And, since i don't intend to ever install a buttstock on the unit, it'll never be a rifle.

Interesting and confounding all in one.

BEEMER!

Here is a 475 Scoped Wildey with a 14" barrel.

Just curious ... What is the total length minus a stock and adapter?

Of the Mechtech?

Barrel+conversion unit just under 23 inches.
