Delta Conversion back from Colt

Sent the Delta in for a .40 conversion and trigger job. Got it back within 100 days and hit the range today. Ran 100 rounds of Federal Aluminum .40, 50 rounds of 10 mm Remington, 10 rounds of Hornady 10 mm 155 and 10 rounds of 10 mm 200 Hornady.

Ran perfect, the .40's shot great in the Colt 10 mm mag and .40 calibre Tripp mags.

The barrel was Nowlin.

Just a few questions.

They did not give me  a separate bushing for the .40 barrel, does it matter?

Also the guide rod for the .40 is fatter than the standard 10 mm. Is that the guide rod I should use if I want to go to a single spring system instead of the current 2 spring?

"They did not give you a separate barrel for the .40 barrel" - what does that mean?  Did you mean bushing? In regards to the guide rod - you should probably call Colt.  I would think you would only have to change barrels and springs when changing calibers.

They probably machined the new Nowlin barrel to the same outside dimension as the Colt barrel in 10mm, so same barrel bushing.  Did they give you a new spring or is the 16lb big spring it with the new guide rod.  I think the larger outer spring is the same as a .45 Gov or about 16lb and not sure what the smaller inside spring is.  Of course you need the longer, thinner, composite guide rod to use both springs.  If you look at Wolf they suggest a single 23lb spring with 10mm and say you have to use the thicker metal guide rod as in the .45.

Dakota, they gave me a separate spring for the .40 with the larger guide rod. It matched the length of the main 10mm spring. I was concerned about the bushing as Dan Wesson gave me a separate bushing when they did my Razorback conversion. I just took the Delta .40 barrel out and you are right, they machined it.

I just love these conversions.

Anyway, you have me on the lookout for a Double Eagle Mark II 10mm.
