We've still got a lot of work to do!

I had a 'retail clerk' at Gander Mtn. say to me, that because they didn't sell any 10mm firearms, or ammo in the store.  It wasn't worth having it.   I'm thinking, some of these people still don't get it!  They've never owned a firearm in 10mm, never fired the cartridge, and pass on heresay 'negativity' about the caliber.  He proceeded to tell, my 10mm's were expensive 'paperweights', and explained reloading dies for the cartridge were 'near-impossible' to acquire.  They had no counter-argument, when I mentioned that 10mm S&W autos, and revolvers were going for a premium everywhere.  I added that, somebody must be buying all these:  Dan Wessons, Glocks, EAA's, Kimbers, and soon to be, SIG's for high-dollar retail.  All I got was indifferent stunned-silence.  Nor, when I mentioned ammo was only a 'mouse-click' away at Double Tap, Underwood, or Georgia Arms.  It takes a lot to convince the 'flat-earthers' that there are better alternatives for the serious pistolero out there!

I hear ya Zephyr, I continue to ask at the WalMart and Academy Store locally just to stir the pot up!  It is why I load my own to my own exacting tolerances!  It is why I enjoy doing the Pull-Down Documentations here so everyone can learn what is being sold, what makes it go boom or bang!  If for nothing else to preserve the history of our favorite cartridge that brings the perfect ballistic punch to the party!  I thank those who sent ammo and Intercooler for pushing me and sending all the ammo that he has which has dominated the documentations...

If we could only find some of the missing SwampFox Ammo and Elite Ammunition who also made some nice 10mm ammo.
This would also add to the history.

Hopeful the new wave of 10mm guns, bring about more interest, as those new to the cartridge also learn of the power and energy from the various platforms.  ;D

The problem with Gander is that they claim to be a SUPERSTORE.

My store sometimes has the American Eagle stuff for $50 a box of 50. I can get Remington for $30 and Armscor for $25 at my local gs.

They should also carry 38 Super but alas never seen that there.

The nice thing about Cabelas is there is always ten mike mike ammo on the shelves there.

Even during ammo shortages...

The Rual Kings(a mainly midwestern boxish farm store) around here have been stocking armscor. No guns though

If a survey was done on all pistol owners of following calibers .380,.9mm,.40,.45 and 10mm,the obvious least owned is a 10mm. A lot of recent owners since the POTUS was in are new and depending where one lives just simply want a self protection pistol with minimal recoil, concealable and cost effective. The 10mm over last few yrs has come back out and makers are popping up, but will it be mainstream like the rest, I doubt it. Gander has high rent and overhead as well. I am sure if folks were pouring in asking for 10mm, they would stock.

High rent and overhead means the store probably carefully tracks GMROI.  And 10mm stuff will stay on the shelf a bit longer.

I  make certain to set the record straight every time I go to the gun store.

I am happy to report that many of the gun stores locally, while they will not actually recommend a 10mm, they will now mention it and tell the truth about it rather than spewing BS.

I understand the need to turn inventory, but price your 10mm stuff correctly and it moves.

Did you tell him Colt makes a 10mm?  :D

To me that's just bad customer service. To lie about the die availability to steer you to a different caliber? Skip that place. Not that I shop Cabela's much but the Shooting catalog magazine that showed up yesterday has a decent amount of 10mm items, even 6.8SPCII ammo.

:o Well the 40 S&W and the 10mm take the same dies, at least on a Hornady setup. So stating that 10mm dies are "near impossible to get" just flies on the face of logic since the 40 short&weak is one of the most popular calibers. Just saying...

I called it a lie. You call it a logic lapse. You are super polite :)
