I've had my G20sf for nearly two years and might have a hundred rounds thru it. I have owned other Glocks for over ten years and am comfortable with the standard trigger or the 3.5# for defensive purposes. However I really want something without all the "mush" for the G20SF to hunt with. I recently read ,but didn't bookmark, what was touted to be the closest you could get to a single action pull. I do not expect the impossible and must maintain all safety but there has got to be something better. Please offer suggestions based on your actual experience. Thanks

Goat, Welcome to the forum!  About your question are you still referring to the Glock trigger as being close to a single action feel?

Best regards and enjoy the forum!  :D

I would love to have the feel of a single action but realise that we are talking about two completely different firearms that operate in two completely different ways. I am looking for a trigger that I can shoot well enough to hunt whitetail out to fifty yards. I have installed a Burris Fastfire III on my G-20SF but really need some help with the trigger.
I have never been a great pistol shot and know I need all the help I can get. Trigger control and sight picture are the most important to make the best shot I can be. The Fastfire helps me with sight picture but I don't know what to do about th he trigger.
Just making the Glock trigger lighter is not enough. I would like to do away with the "mush" as much as possible, i.e. make it as "crisp" as obtainable, and do away with the overtravel.
Am I asking the impossible? Should I just forget about the Glock for hunting? Maybe I should just pull out by 41mag Blackhawk and forget the 10mm.
I do not know anyone who shoots competitively so I can't shoot another trigger set up. And I don't have the extra funds to just keep trying different trigger components. I've seen all kinds of kits online but don't know how they compare or which ones will give me what I am looking for. Actual experience from someone who has already been down this road would surely help. Thanks

Welcome, Goat!

I, myself, have posted volumes in my lifetime here on this forum and others regarding my 10mm hunting and Glock experiences in general so ill spare all the details that you can Google on your own :) but I can tell you a great place to start with your Glock trigger that won't break the bank and doesn't require a tedious install:

1) Ghost Edge 3.5lb connector
2) Wolff 3.5lb Competition Spring Kit
3) $.25 Poor Boy's trigger polish job

Another piece of good news is that you can buy the first and second of these items from Ghost Inc directly. The third you can do with some Flitz and a Dremel

I wouldn't go as far as to say that ANY Glock trigger will ever have as good of a trigger as, say, a tuned 1911. You will, however, get a trigger that is hundreds of miles better than the stock Glock trigger.

The main thing you have to do is simply get used to a longer trigger on the Glock. Also, I don't believe "mush" is what you need to get rid of but rather the "stacking" before the break. That, for me, is what seems to pull the sites off target. Often times when you go lighter on a Glock trigger, you actually get MORE mushy but it will break cleaner when the break actually happens. Glocks have different trigger geometry so there are things you can change and others you can't change in the name of safety.

All of that being said, I still love my Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter in 44 mag, my Fusion 1911 longslide 10mm Hunter and my Glock 20SF 10mm w/ FF3 for hunting deer.

I did this:

1) Ghost Ultimate 3.5lb connector
2) $.25 Poor Boy trigger polish job

And was quite stunned how much better it shot and my groups tightened up.
