Hello to all.
I am pretty certain that a 10mm is in my future, but I haven't decided which model yet.  I'd like a compact model and haven't ruled out the RIA Ultra MS, the Glock 20, or the Witness P Compact.  The gun will not be my primary CCW, but will be carried in the woods as a backup... so it needs to be light.  Can you give me some opinions?

I am a long way from a Glock fanboi.  But, given your requirements, about the only solid choice is a Glock 29.

Witness compacts are still pretty heavy as steel guns.  Even the polymer Witness has 1/4 lb on the Glock 29.  Add in the fact that you may need to tune it up a bit before it runs 100%.

That said, you list a Glock 20 on your list.  That is a long way from a "compact" gun in my book.  So, I may be confused about your requirements.

Yep, I second a Glock 29 for your needs. I am no Glock fanboy either.

G29sf is my EDC. I use to carry a G20 on the job and off. I didn't think that it was that heavy back then. My 29 is so light that I have to do an arm check to make sure that I didn't forget to put it on. You can drop in an extended barrel and G20 mag and you have it all. I do still carry my 20 at times but it is because it was  with me for so many years, that I just want to take my old friend out for a walk! ;D

My Glock 29 runs like a Top  :-* , the recoil compared to others is very manageable, the wife loves it.

I will second this.  My Glock 29 shoots about like my Para p16-40/10mm and my Witness full size in 10mm.  Perceived recoil is subjective, but I perceive it about the same.

I would go with the glock if you want a true compact due to the eaa compacts mag. If you are ok with a normal grip but short slide check out the witness P carry.

Glock 29 is the only 100 % reliable option. I love mine and carry it often.

Which +2 is that? I tried the pearce and the Arredondo +5 and they messed with reliability. Is it 100%?
