As heavy as the bolt is in a hipoint carbine, just reaming it to 10mm should be all that is needed.. but i have not personally done one. I have seen the videos on youtube.
I was not remotely impressed with the 9mm carbine i briefly owned. It was a piece of junk honestly. Unless i find a .40 really really cheap i will not do this myself. I had rather put the money into something much better built that i know will last.

$200 for the 4095TS with a 10 rounder and two functioning ProMag 15-Rounders. The .40 functions fine and actually despite being ugly as sin, gets decent reviews and is a decent value. That said .40SW can be had in the $11-$13 range so I will just keep it as is.

I almost bought  a Olympic Arms 10mm upper. Despite being local to me, Olympic get such poor feedback.

I am STILL in search of the right 10mm carbine. Something better built indeed.

One problem with this. I had the misfortune to acquire a Hi-Point .45 a few years ago. Worst POS I ever bought. It literally could not fire one magazine without at least one failure to something, many time 2 or 3 times. The stupid grip forced me to hold it so high I was getting bit by the slide every time I fired it, when it would fire. Ended up giving it to my little brother who uses it as a single shot shark killer when he goes out in the Gulf fishing.
