im thinking about getting a RIA 10mm any advice or warning i should know .thanks

I got one! The bushingless barrel takes some getting used to. I wimped out and bought a real tool to hold the spring compressed because if I bent a paperclip like suggested it broke the paperclip off a few times. It functioned well with every third part mag I put through it except one. It's a nice entry level cheaper priced 10mm.

That's it second from the top.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

hows the accuracy ?it would be impossible to put a target barrel in it do to its unique bushingless  set up.

It isn't bad. Not like my Fusion Firearms long slide or my Dan Wesson Razorback, but like I said, a good entry level gun. I figure I'll use it for practice, the other two for real accuracy. I do love the fiber optic pipe front sight. Way easier for my old aged eyes to focus on than the usual 1911 front post.

Mine was an early one and it was a lemon. That being said working all the kinks out of it got me attached to it, I would sell my kimber before my ria.

The RIA comes with a match grade Bull barrel from the factory. So when you say "target barrel" I am not sure that it won't work.

Mine has functioned flawlessly, close to 1000 rounds through it without a FTF/FTE or any issues in firing. it still launches brass into Sub Earth Orbit though.
It's my DiMMe

Laughed at your last sentence about brass and orbits. I've been shooting 10's for a long time and currently own four. If there is anything that angers me is having to gather up brass from the "back forty". But, I guess it is worth it.

As I've mentioned is several other post on this forum I love mine, It stands shoulder to shoulder with the four other 1911 style 10mm I own. One note ...... The only thing that's OEM is the frame and slide  ;)

This is an interesting statement because I was thinking the same thing. Then I read 10mmfan statement. I have both the RIA and  a Kimber Eclipse. I should have never bought the Kimber but it is just plain purty. I love them both but I do believe I can shoot the Rock better. I love the Rock so much I had it black nitride treated. It is very accurate. Other than the black nitride treatment, I put a steel mainspring housing and a barrel supporting reverse plug. That's it. "Entry level gun"??? Personally it looks and feels as good as any name brand that you might spend four and five times as much for. Steve

She looks like a 'keeper' now.  Pistol has nice appointments, and cool grips!

Yes they are ramped. I am considering getting the RIA  commander for concealed carry, I normally carry the full size but the shorter slide should make for a better draw.

Actually, Rob over at Alchemy Custom Weaponry did the barrel work. He polished the feed ramp, throated, flush cut and reverse crowned the RIA barrel. If you've never dealt with these folks they are the best!!
