Found this site after becoming interested in buying a 10mm after getting to shoot a buddies G20SF and getting hooked on the 10mm.
Dont own one yet but will have a EAA Witness or Glock 20 very soon.

raven28690, Welcome aboard! :)  Best regards and good luck with you procurement!
If it were me I'd opt for the Glock based on its reputation and aftermarket parts availability...
Just beware the 10mm is addictive as you have already found out!  Nobody can have just one! :o

Welcome!  I also would suggest the Glock 20.  In case you're not aware, it is available in 3 forms that include:  G20 (standard model), G20 SF (utilizes a smaller around grip compared to the standard model grip that some people prefer the feel of), and the G20C (compensated model where some of the gas is redirected upward from the slide to aid in reducing muzzle flip during recoil).

I have the standard G20 and a standard G29.  If you do decide to go the EAA route, from what I've heard, it's way worth it to step up to their Elite Witness model.  Others here could give you more details on that in the appropriate forum, not to mention browsing the forums will turn up some good info too.

Best of Luck with whatever you decide, and be sure to let us know, with pics if possible.  Glad to have you on board!
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

CW02, from one vet to another thank you for your service! Its great to know the 10 worked well on the bear, hope to be going on one in August in NM.

I am fairly new to 10mm. I became interested in it after noticing the amount of time I was NOT carrying my 500 S&W.  The 500 is a great gun and a fantastic caliber, once I got past thinking that it always needed to be loaded with dinosaur stomper loads. But, it is heavy and hard to carry comfortably without some major support.  The 10mm in no way can come close to the power of the 500 S&W, or even the .41 mag it is often compared to.  I do see a use for a smaller, lighter, auto loader that can throw good weight of lead at moderate velocities.  That's how I got here. I don't reload and I have to rely on commercial ammo. the information on this site is what I need to help make informed choices about what ammo I try. (Glock 30 w/KKM 10mm conversion bbl.)
   Thanks for all of that.

Welcome to the forum ennis!  I like the way you think.  Lots of great info here.  I'm sure it won't disappoint.  I'm also sure there are plenty of questions that haven't been asked/answered so don't be afraid to ask in the appropriate subforum.  Around here no question is a dumb question.

Papajohn

Greeting to all, I'm Papajohn here and on several other fora, most notably MarlinOwners.com and the S&W Forum.  I'm 55 and semi-retired from the LE field, now working (armed) security in the ghetto that is North St Louis.  I've been a gun guy my whole life, started subscribing to gun magazines when I was nine, and have been a diehard reloader/experimenter for about three decades.  I don't join a lot of forums but after several hours of reading posts here, I was impressed with the level of expertise regarding internal and external ballistics, and felt compelled to join in the fun.

I put off buying a Ten for as long as I could, but have been a fan of the round since I first read about it.  I bought the first EAA Witness I ever saw in 40S&W, I'm not a fan of the 9mm, and wanted something bigger.  That was back in 1990, and that pistol was recently passed on to my son, who's been shooting it since he was 4 years old.  I have four Witnesses, two in 45ACP, and the latest is a bone-stock Witness full-size in 10mm, which I found languishing in a funshop for $350......resistance was futile.  I know of the problems associated with the Witnesses in 10mm, and I'm not pushing it too hard, but still having a good time with it.  Yesterday's range session saw 155-grain JHP's at 1300 fps, 180's at 1130, I don't see the need to push it harder than that.

I'm looking forward to adding more Tens down the road, there are more out there than I thought, but what I REALLY want is a 10mm Carbine.  I have a Mech-Tech in .460 Rowland, now I wish I'd built a Ten instead.

I'm anticipating some interesting discussions with y'all.   8)

Welcome to 10mm-firearms!  I look forward to your expertise.  Clearly you've been around and done some of this and some of that.  Enjoy.

There has been quite a few new names signed on recently, unfortunately some have been spammers from other countries posting ads...
