Bill and Ken, Welcome to the forum!  Glad you were able to join us here.  8)

Ken, I do load and shoot the 9x25 Dillon from the G-20 and 29 and from a S&W1006 with a Bar-Sto Match Grade conversion barrel.  It is a neat cartridge, but proper loading with regards to headspacing and bullet tension is needed!

Mr. Randy Shelley (the innovator for the 9x25 and 9x30) is a member here, but isn't very active.  He and I have communicated a little and I have posted stuff he has shared to preserve the history of his works.  See this link; http://10mm-firearms.com/wildcats/welcome-mr-randy-shelley-designer-of-the-9x25dillon-cartridge/

My name is Jamie, I am 35 and I live in Kansas City, KS. I enjoy firearms in general but have a particular penchant for handguns and have a love affair with the .45 (both acp and long colt). I had read a few comments from some people in a general gun discussion thread on a football board I frequent and started looking into it. Once I read the history of the round and saw that the round was too punishing for the limp wristed accountants at the Bureau ;), I knew I HAD to have one. A few days before the election I was in Cabela's to grab some ammo in case things went sideways election night and decided I might as well look and see what they had in the counter. I ended up walking out with a RIA Tac Ultra FS. After doing some research on ammo and finding this site I ordered a bunch of rounds from Underwood. I'll have my first opportunity to shoot it this Wednesday when I get to my parents place down in Texas. And Wednesday cannot get here fast enough.

Phantom, Welcome to the forum and to the illustrious world we know as 10mm Auto!
as you put some of those Underwood through your RIA, snatch up the spent casings to inspect just how they are doing.  You will want to look for excessive bulging or the dreaded "SMILE".  This could indicate that some tuning of the recoil system or main spring could needed... ???  Good luck with you experiences!

Best regards!  :D

Thanks for the advice. Is that a problem typical with UW and 1911s, or with UW and RIA 1911s specifically?

The_Shadow

RIA not so much, but it pays to make the observation to be on the safe side given the Underwood impulse.  Delta Elites lack a lot of case support!

Hello, newbie here. Got my DE almost a year ago, and have been really wanting to feel "full power" loads, but am afraid to hurt the gun. Found a link to this forum while researching loads for it. I am an experienced handloader and have been shooting high powered handguns for 20 years.

Shotgun, welcome to the forum, you should be able to find plenty info here, you're in the right place for all things 10mm and then some!

Best regards! :D

Eric here. Live in Michigan. I've been fighting the 10mm itch for about 5 years, and finally caved. Started with a Glock 20 a few weeks ago, and now I also have a Kriss Vector gen2 in 10mm...already a bad pattern developing...

Here for 10mm wisdom.

Hi All Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!  My name is Steve and live on the coast of Maine.  I retired out of the Air Force after 24 years and now make drinking water.  Was the president of a local rifle and pistol club for a few years and was always intreated in the 10mm when it first came out, but could not afford one so other more popular calibers of the day were my focus.  Married to the same girl for the past 30 or so years (she keeps me on the right track) and have one son that went in the AF after two years of college when I got out.  Love flying, shooting of any kind, fly fishing camping, hiking and the great out doors.  Looking to get back into reloading once again.  I found the site doing some fact finding on the 1911 forums researching the RIA Tach II MS in 10mm that I finally bought.  I was impressed with all the information so hear I am.  Looking forward to learning from you all.

Thanks

Steve

hello my name is lou i'm 53 and live in arizona now originally from western new york where i started handgun hunting many years ago with my .454 casull and a s&w 1006 i sold the 1006 and bought a s&w 610 which i sold too just didn't want to deal with the moon clips anymore especially with the hand troubles from 30 plus years as an electrician. anyway i have had a ls elite hunter 10mm for about a year or so and reloaded a bunch of various cartridges and have been to the range several times with it and so far good results to be discussed later. i have also polished all the parts that i could and slicked it up pretty well but the trigger needs work "creep" and to be smoothed out so i am learning on how to take gun apart to slick up trigger and remove the creep so any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated. enough babble for now so thanks for having me and look forward to being on this forum !!

Hello Lou and welcome to the forum.  Trigger adjustments are usually best left for experienced people especially if your life will depend on it.  However there are some great people her that could provide some advice.

Best regards!  :D

Thanks for advise shadow I will consider it for sure. I actually work on all my rifle triggers and hand hone all my muzzleloader trigger/locks and have become proficient at glass bedding but plan on taking a 1911 a armorer  (spelling) ? Course and start working on them it doesn't look too awful hard. Look forward to some good chats on the forum! Thanks for the welcome

Cylinder and Slide has some great courses that are on my bucket list.

If I were doing sear work on a 1911, this is the jig I would buy:  https://shop.harrisoncustom.com/hd-806-true-radius-pro-sear-stoning-jig
