Hello my name is Greg I am 43 and from Iowa. I just bought my 1st 10mm, but I have been shooting most of my life. I spent 13 years in the Army. Worked my way from Private to Captain. Really looking forward to picking all you guys brains on my new pistol.

Welcome aboard.  Thanks for your service.

Lets have the details on your 1st 10mm.  Make, model, mods (if any), what ammo you have run through it?

Fulmaduro

Howdy from Kansas City, MO! I am a Marine Corps veteran and Gulf War veteran. I haven't reloaded in 17 years since all my reloading equipment was stolen by Hawaiian locals packing my gear for shipment back to the USA. Just bought a new set-up and am ready to reload again.

Just bought a new Colt Delta Elite and am excited for a 10mm! I already have a few questions on reloading and springs, about to post soon. Thanks for the add!

Hello Tony, welcome to the forum and thank you for your service!  Congrats with the new Colt Delta Elite.  Be sure to take care with your loading for it as there is a lot of unsupported casing with the rampless Colt chamber design.  That doesn't mean you can't find suitable loads that will work, you need to inspect the casings for severe bulging as you approach the higher pressures with what ever brand casings you load for.

Best regards!  :D

Wishbone

Howdy,
Go by Wishbone or Gil. Living in Warner Robins, Ga. about 15 miles south of Macon..Going past 63 years old. Been shooting, collecting, hunting, etc. since I was about 10. Same time I got my first motorcycle..  Retired USAF, and retired US Postal Service. Now retired for good... Ever had a best friend that you know more about his guns than they do, and visa versa. Well that friend sent me to this forum. He doesn't own a 10mm, but he knew I did.. Good looking forum and I'm sure I'll learn a lot..
Only own one 10mm. Started with a G20, but since one of my sons manages a local gunstore, I was able to trade for one of the first G40's to hit here.. That is all I take hunting now for pig/deer. Haven't gotten one yet with it but have killed 9 deer with other handguns. The last one with a Colt Python...  I have run a Cowboy Action Shooting Club for about 20 years and in it I shoot the ole school 10mm aka 38-40...Rambled enough.. Thanks

Welcome to the forum Wishbone.  38-40 has always intrigued me, but I have never owned one.

Wishbone

I use it mostly with black powder. Fairly easy to reload. Basically stuff the case with BP seat/crimp your bullet and BOOM. Great show... Besides I like to use what the cowboys used back then... May not hit all the time, but I look good doing it.. ;D

Gil, thank you for your service and welcome to the forum.  The new G-40's are interesting with the use of the various optic sights and sure there will even be better ones to come.
Best regards,  :D

First Manchu

My Name is Allen. I am 46 years old and I live in El Paso. I work as a supervisor in a county jail facility. I'm an Army vet and I was in combat during "Operation Just Cause" in Panama. I hunt, fish, reload and shoot. Of all of my firearms the Glock 20 I bought back in the mid 1990's is my favorite. It is the gun that got me into reloading. Always looking for new info and tips with reloading.

Welcome Mr. Manchu. Hottest website on the interwebs

First Manchu, welcome to the forum and thank you for your service!  It would be a possibility that G-20 is a Gen-2 version.
The reason I bring this up is the older Gen-2 was said to have less case support than the newer versions.  So care needs to be taken with load development if that is the one the has less case support.  Another thing that comes to mind is the barrels of the Gen-2's may have been different in other ways and may not swap out with the newer ones... ???

Best regards!  :D

Howdy folks.  :D

My name is Bill and I'm from Texas. 2 months ago I got my first 10mm and also my first Glock, a G29 Gen 4. What a beast. Love it.  ;D

I'm a retired mechanic and after years and years of heavy lifting I'm also disabled.

I don't really have much to say as I live a quiet life but I hope to say lots in the threads so I'll see y'all then.
How powerful is 10mm? Well, see those craters on the moon?

Hello Bill and welcome to the forum!  Mechanic work has a way of taking its toll on a person for sure.  Congrats with your G-29, the 3rd gen pre SF I have has been a great shooter.  Hope you enjoy the forum for what it has to offer.
Best regards!  :D

Welcome Bill,

I was born in Texarkana on the correct side of the state line, but my Yankee parents moved back north when I was three.  Now I live in the west.

Always good to have another Texan here!

Olgo

Glad to meet y'all. I can't wait to hit the range when I get my rear sight and 40sw barrel tomorrow.  :P
