Hello, I am just another gun guy, love to  hunt and shoot all kinds of small arms. I work construction, and raise cattle, I used to shoot various pistol competitions when I was younger. I have shot IDPA, IPSC, NRA Hunter Silhouette, among other things, but now days, I just shoot mostly for the fun of it, nothing serious, beyond some hunting, and CCW.

I own several Glock 40's, and my favorite semi-auto is the 1911, but I have never owned a 10 mm. I have been mildly interested in the big 10, but just never jumped off an bought one. That's why I am here, to read about the Ten, and maybe get one. I am considering a DW Razorback, because I handled one recently and being a 1911 guy, I appreciated the quality of the piece, and thought I might want one for the times when  I wanted a little more power then the 45ACP, but didn't want pack a Super Blackhawk.

The_Shadow

astmohecken, welcome to the forum!  There are plenty 1911 options in 10mm.  The DW Razorback is a nice format, but being a 1911 guy you might like what Robert Serva has to offer in the Fusion line.  He used to be with Dan Wesson before CZ took over and is making some really great pistols from his company.

Then there are the Rock Island Armory 10's at a more economical price point...

Anyway enjoy the forum there is plenty here to see and learn.  Best regards,  :D

Wolfie

The Razorback is a great gun. Plus you can send in back to DW for a 40 conversion so you can shoot that too.

Greetings! Recently bought my first 1911 and first 10mm, what a combo! I did go the "economical" route but have been reading up on a few inexpensive ways to make the Rock a better 1911, anxious to try them out. Haven't been able to get to the range yet due to the ice/sleet we've had recently, but hope to get out soon. Looking forward to doing a LOT of reading on here. - Steve

ZanderMan, Welcome to the forum and congrats with that beautiful pistol!
Thanks, gents!

From what I've read, the first thing I need to do is install a flat-bottomed firing pin retainer/stop from EGW, but looking at their site I'll admit that I'm a little lost on which one to order.

Series 70 .40 cal?

RIA is 70 series. That part isn't caliber specific. I used Wilson combat on my version of that pistol. But EGW is highly respected.

You will be filing that part to fit it to your gun
