Quick 2

I jumped in and never really introduced myself. My name is Tony, 52yrs old married to the love of my life for 30yrs. I have a 17yr old Daughter who looks 21 and she is very very pretty. Little tomboyish but will not go to the mail box without have makeup and dressed to kill. Yes I still have now young men that will not even walk down the same isle with me if they see me at Walmart after a little conversation I had with them. I have a 10yr old son who is very athleteic don't know who he got that from. Loves his Xbox but I can stick my head in his room and say do you want to go shoot and down goes the controller and he is getting his gear together. When we used to go to a range to shoot everybody there would stop and watch him shoot. He can hit pennies on the edge while the pennies are laying down. Hoping this leads to a scholarship. He is my best friend and he is the one who is keeping me young. Enjoying it here just became a 10mm owner just a few months ago. I have wanted a 10mm ever since their conception. EAA Witness 10mm with their 22lr conversion.

Tony, welcome to the forum!  Sounds like you have a great family.  I hope you saw the reply about the 800X loading you inquired about in one of your post.  Enjoy your 10mm and the forum!
Best regards! ;)

Hmmm, that reminds me. Just found a 1 pound jug of IMR Hi-Skor 800X way back on a shelf. Bet I got it just for 10mm, but found a five pound jug of Blue Dot online and have been using that.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

gandog56, you probably did get the 800X for the 10mm...have you used it yet to push it limits?  I does provide lots of energy to get the bullets moving! :D

Lately I have been running mostly 800X and LongShot for the 10mm and 9x25Dillon.

Now about Blue Dot, I don't know too much about that one, I started out using the Hercules Blue Dot from 1lb canisters....then started buying it this way because it was more economical.

The cardboard canisters are empty now and plastic jug is getting pretty low now, it may be time to buy a new one!
I have used it in 38spl/357mag, 44spl/44mag, 9mm, 10mm, 40S&W, 357Sig, 9x25Dillon, 45ACP, reduced loads for 30-30, 30'06, 410ga and 12ga.  Before they stopped us from duck hunting with lead shot, I was launching 12ga 1 1/4 oz payloads at 1330 fps.

My name is Mikel (pronounced Michael) and I live in the Phoenix Area.

Nickname is from all the pins and screws located in my right elbow. I found this forum through http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forum.php

I intend to roll my own. Fortunately, Diamond K Brass is local  ;)

My first pistol way back in the day was a first gen Glock 20. Loved it. Shot the hell out of it. No, seriously, I had to buy a new barrel before I finally sold it  :D

I very recently came across a Rock Island Armory (Armscor) 2011 VZ edition 10mm, and well, a short discussion with the banker and it was mine. (spring pack is on order up 24#)

Once I get the chance to start working on loads, my intent is to work up some SWC cast loads from 175gr to 200gr, some hollow points in the same range, and some WFN up to 225gr+ for hunting. Looking at this as a back up to my TC Contender in .357 Herrett for hunting up to and including Elk.

My wife is recoil sensitive, so I may work up some .40S&W loadings with Filler for Lighter/Mousefart loads.

Other things I wouldn't mind owning:
10mm barrel for my Contender
10mm Carbine/PDW
10mm Revolver in 2.5-5in barrel options.
10mm Derringer

Yes, I very much like the 10mm. I have taken feral pigs/hogs and deer when I had my Glock. Now, I get to start over again in life, and do things the right way round to really enjoy my firearms.

Oh, and I also plan to get back into shooting IHMSA, and maybe some other "competitive" stock gun shooting.

Mikel, Welcome to the forum!  That old G-20 was still probably a gen2 version, Congrats on the RIA procurement, it should serve you well.  Hope the elbow healing continues to improve and doesn't plaque you in cold weather...

Best of luck filling out your list of 10's they are addictive!  ;)

Thanks!

still a First Gen for a 10mm in Glock ;) LOL

There is a reason I live in Arizona, it rarely gets below 40f at home. It has been 9 years since I hit the road and tore up my elbow. One of those "Shit happens" freak accidents. I still ride, but my body is slowing down, so I don't ride as much as I used to.

Hello fellow 10 mm enthusiasts. Well you guessed it my name is Todd I'm in my mid-50s former Marine was an 0331, I carried the pig which was also known back then as the M-60, along with that, a 1911 .45 acp. I started hunting when I was 12 and reloading shotshells when I was 13. I started metallic loading and age 28. At age 31 to age 40 I worked at a major sporting goods chain which specialized in firearms. I've had many calibers but I just recently picked up my first 10 mm pistol and I chose the Kimber Target II stainless. While looking for different loads I came across your forum and I was extremely impressed. You all conduct yourself very professionally and you also all have extensive knowledge in proper loading  techniques. After spending extensive time in the factory ammo pull down section reading almost all of the ammo pull downs, I Knew I had found the right forum. I don't spend a lot of time online, a week or two maybe even go by before I check my email. So if I don't seem to make a lot of posts or I'm not on all the time please don't be offended. Thank you all for a great forum, kind regards, Todd

Welcome to the forum Todd!  Glad you are finding the info to help you in your quest of knowledge about the 10mm guns and ammo.  Congrats with the Kimber Target II as well...

Best regards!  :D

New guy to 10mm checking in from Oklahoma. I don't have a 10mm yet but it's on the very short list. I found my way here via the 1911 Forums and the Starline group buy that The Earl o Sammich is heading up (I'm in for 500 pcs). I still need to select a gun and I'm on the fence about buying off the shelf or a custom build. It seems no one offers a factory gun that fits my criteria, so I'll probably be asking lots of questions (once I do a forum search that is)! :)

I went both ways. I bought a Fusion Firearms longslide custom 10mm, then I bought an RIA for $600 so I wouldn't shoot out the Fusion. The Fusion will be my accuracy pistol, the RIA my plinking keep in practice pistol.

glocktogo, Welcome to the forum!  Good luck with your selection the models to choose from are limited and some are commanding higher prices.

Best regards!  :D
