Sean from Vt

MCQUADE,
I did go to MCC. Lived in Albemarle for almost 3 years. Worked on Badin lake and in Biscoe.

Redbaron007,  eventually, after the kids get out of school I want to move south again. My Harley spends too much time moth balled!

MCQUADE

That's great Sean, I still do my firearms qualification each year at MCC's little range. They upgraded it somewhat a year or so ago but it still has the same number of lanes. Wayne is still teaching and everyone in class now only seems to want to build AR's. They also have an excellent knifemaking program that they don't advertise.

Firearms qualification for who?

I hope not the state.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

MCQUADE

Yes, that's why they had to upgrade it with a higher berm....alot higher!

Quick 2

I live in a small town in NW GA. and finally bought a 10mm in the EAA Witness full sized F_P. I researched the Witness a lot before I finally broke down and bought one. The EAA's cheesy advertisement was what keep me from taking them serious. To me a product should sell itself. To tell the truth I was looking at the women more than I was looking at the gun. Then I researched the Witness group and saw that they have been in the firearms business after WWII in gun parts mainly and in 1953 they started production of their line of firearms. I have always liked the looks of the CZ-75 and looked at some in LGS and a little over a week ago bought my 10mm. I really don't know why this cartridge did not catch on. Its more powerful than a 357 mag and falls a little shy of the 41 mag. If you like the light and fast you have the 135gr at 1600fps and you can go all the way up to a 220gr at 1200fps Don't know if that load is still available but it was the first load offered for the 10mm from Norma. Colonel Cooper wanted a 200gr load at 1000fps if my memory serves me right. He said this would be the ultimate man stopper and I agree. The folks at the FBI took on this cartridge after the infamous Miami shoot out where the agents knowing what they were up against were out gunned. After that the FBI took the 10mm in the S&W 1006 if not for that I wonder if the 10mm would still be around. 15rds in a single magazine is a lot of get off of me, from 2 to four legged. The 10mm has fascinated me since the 80s when it came out. I looked at the 1911s ( Colt has named a lot of it guns after snakes and I don't know why they didn't call the 1911 the rattler). I know I just enraged a lot of 1911 fans but as the saying goes the truth will stand when the world is on fire. I do like the fact that the 1911 can be carried condition 1 and the CZ-75 can also. Looking forward to being a part of this forum to learn a lot and add a little knowledge. Guess this is a long enough intro. But I am looking forward to being apart of the few that love a cartridge that almost never was.

Welcome Quick 2!

You will enjoy/learn quite a bit from this forum. It's a great place. Full of good information!
Some days it's just good to be lucky; rather than just good looking!

My name is Bob and I absolutely love the 10MM. I was 'raised' so to speak on the venerable 1911 from my Army days and that has been my weapon of choice, until owning a SIG P 229 in .357 SIG and now the Kimber Ultra in 10. I would like to hear more about the best SD ammo for that gun...

Tomcatt

Hey everyone...Just found this site from a link on another site. My name is John. I just moved back home to Ga. from Fl. I have two 10mm's. A Delta Elite made in '88 and a pre CZ Dan Wesson Razorback.

Oldsoldier 69 & Tomcatt welcome to the forum!

The Kimbers are said to have good chamber support and a feed ramp barrel.  Most have had good results with them.

The Delta Elites have had issues with the upper end performance ammo and many have slightly reduced loadings to accommodate the lack of chamber support around the chamber entrance, this was done to keep the brass from ballooning.

See warnings at Underwood Ammo as it pertains to DE guns... ???
