COMMODORE99

Hi everyone.  My name is Jay and I just picked up my first 10mm tonight, an EAA WITNESS HUNTER.  I'm looking forward to shooting it soon and hopefully take a whitetail with it this fall.  I live in Minnesota, just south of Minneapolis

Welcome, be advised the 10 is addictive.

Welcome, be advised the 10 is addictive.

Put it this way, I now own more 10mm 1911's than .45 1911's.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Hello fellow 10-mil fans.

My name is Louie. I am 42 and live in Golden, Colorado where I ride my HD-Fat Bob though the mountains and find cool places to shoot and spend time with good people. I am also a 5 year NRA member which will renew to life member soon. By day I am a software systems engineer and by night I am tired and ready for bed. During the winter when I am not shooting or riding, I spend my time researching rounds, ballistic performance tests and other gun related media because it is better than the crap on TV.

I was a tow-gunner in the Army down in Benning for a short time when I was younger but I have been into small arms since i was roughly 13. By now I own several pieces of fire and lead spitting hardware and look forward to many more.

The 10mm was a caliber which for years I did not care for and that is the way it was until just a short time ago. A friend asked me what would be a good handgun to carry while backpacking and hiking here in the Colorado Rockies. I couldn't answer immediately because he was looking for an auto-loader and not a wheelgun. That is when I started seriously looking at the 10mm and I just fell in love with it.

Just yesterday I picked up my first Glock which is also my first 10mm. I had the Lone Wolf 6.61" threaded aftermarket barrel and flash hider for it as well as Underwood ammo ready a week before I actually went out and purchased the G20.

Needless to say I couldn't be happier with my new 10.

Hello and welcome to the forum Louie!  Congrats with your G-20, it should serve you well.
I to liked the 357mag & the 44mag for many years, but the introduction of the 10mm back in the early 80's caught my attention and I had to have one.  I started with the S&W1006 as my first and I hand loaded for it since day one!

The 10mm cartridge and guns are addictive, so be warned!  :o
Best regards! :D

Thank you The_Shadow.

Yes, I am quite hooked on the ten. That was the shortest time I have ever experienced between the start of research on the cartridge to purchased firearm.

Of course, I'm already eye-ing that carbine conversion kit.

Yes, that's the one. Eventually that will be added to this one.

For now, with the G20 and the lone wolf 6.61" barrel, I have enough to keep me busy.

You hound!!  ;D

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun that thing is to shoot. And accurate? Look at that frikkin target above. And that was with the barrel warming up? I bet it would have been a group a third that size if I warmed it up first.

Gunsandgars

Name is Karl stuck in the wonderful land of Utard (Utah) where being an adult is illegal!  Fortunately the gun laws are ok comparatively speaking. Username indicates guns and cigars not the Gar fish. I'm a newer 10mm junkie. Currently all of mine are S&W. 2 1026's and 1 1086. Had a 1066 but had to sell it when Obummer started cutting government spending and my job laid me off. Active on the S&W forum as well but that's it.
Thanks.
Karl
