Howdy from the Texas Gulf Coast.

I service residential water features (pools).  My passions are riding my motorcycles, everything 1911, making my gf smile, and convincing folks my Frenchie isn't missing any of the essential marbles.

I'm also a reloader.  My first 10mm was/maybe is a RIA 5" - stolen from my truck earlier this summer.  I have a 10mm Mechtech.  I'm paying on a DW Silverback.

NRA RSO and paying toward life.  I'm also a member of Bayou Rifles in the Houston area.

Hello Dred!  Welcome to the forum and back into the 10mm world...sorry for the loss of the RIA!

Best regards!  :D

Ok, I guess it's time to come out into the light as I've been lurking around the place for long enough.

Why do these intros always remind me of some sort of "_______ Anonymous" meeting?

Anyway, I've been tossing various sizes of lead downrange for 40 years, so I've been through quite a few firearms, but somehow have never owned a 10mm despite being impressed with the performance the cartridge has to offer. I've come close many times but always ended-up with something else and thought I was happy.

But you know how it goes. No matter how much you try to suppress it, that 10mm siren song still calls to you. So I find myself haunting the local gun stores yet again, handling the few 10mm models that find their way onto the shelves. You would think that there would be a decent selection here in East Tennessee, given the prevalence of wild hogs that are currently running amok. Alas, such is not the case. As a matter of fact, if I find something other than a Glock 20 to look at, I consider it a good day!

Having said that, both the Glock 20 and 40 are definitely in consideration for my first 10mm as I'm rather familiar with Gaston's designs, currently owning 8 of them. I also like the ease of converting to .40 as I already have a stock of that for my G22. All that said, my first preference would be a pre-lock Smith 610 or Clement's custom GP-100 10mm conversion, but those are a wee bit rare. So the hunt for the first 10 goes on.

Yurei, welcome to the forum!  The Glocks do offer some flexibility with caliber conversions and aftermarket parts.  The 610's are getting pricey and finding a Clements conversion someone will be parting with is almost unheard of.   Good luck on your quest to ownership of the 10mm in whatever you so choose.  Best regards!  :D

Well, it turns out my decision was made for me! My Wife surprised me with a Gen 3 G20 as an Anniversary preset last night!

Grizz Axxemann

Just stumbled upon this merry band of misfits and ne'erdowells.

Hi. I'm Grizz. I made the mistake of buying a Colt Delta Elite as my first handgun way back some 17 or so years ago. The price was right, felt good in my hand, and shoots really well; even if I haven't had it out to the range in a LONG time due to the "Great Canadian Powder Shortage" of 2014-2015.

I'll mostly be hanging out in the reloading section looking up ways to use Power Pistol (it's my favorite) or 231 and Universal. I've got a few piles of bullets waiting to be loaded: 170gr cast, 180gr Winchester JHP, 180 & 200gr XTP, and some 200gr Campro FMJTC that have been my standard, go to pill since I started reloading for this gun a dozen years ago.
Just another random jackass on the internet, stirring the pot since the days of dialup.

Grizz, welcome to the forum!  Sounds like you'll be a busy person catching up on your reloading.
Power Pistol is a little forgiving and works well for 10mm.  Just observe your cases closely looking for any bulging near the case head due to the lack of support of the Delta Elite factory barrel.

231 & Universal are good for lighter target loads as plinking rounds...Pressures build fast and a little less forgiving!

Best regards! :D

My name is Paul and I'm from Ca.... no. Check that. I live in California. (Insert CCR Stuck-in-Lodi-Again video here.) It's horrible here, but this is where my job is. Retirement comes in about 10 more years, then the Mrs. and I are out.

Sorry, I started rambling...

Because California has this stupid "roster" I feel very fortunate to have recently acquired a 10mm 1911 from Kimber. So recently, in fact, that I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.  :(

Pictures, or it isn't true, right? Let's hope this works...

This "marquee" thing is kinda cool! You don't see it on many forums!

New guys here from Western Maryland, should be West Virginia but we're stuck with the crappy Maryland gun laws out away from the city, I'm about 3 hours drive from D.C. I turn 50 in a few days, been shooting since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I stumbled on to this site looking for load data for Bluedot and 180 grain pills. I'm more of a reader than a poster, but I do have several posts on our state forum. Thanks for having me, hope to contribute some and learn a bunch about my new 10mm addiction.

Buff7mm, welcome to the forum! You're in the right place if you want to study and learn about the 10mm and yes it in of itself is addictive!
Blue Dot is a great powder for the 10 and it was the first powder I ever load 10mm with early in 1990.  I will say there are several great powders that with the 10mm accross all the bullet weights.  The Pull-down section has plenty to study about what's been used commercially over the years.  ;)  Enjoy the forum...

Thanks, I'll be skimming over the info as time permits and as I wait for my G20SF to get paroled from Maryland's 7 day jail sentence. :(
