Sumoj275

Hello,
I'm sumoj275, Jeff if you like, and I'm 41 years old.  My background is in HS education and coaching, but currently on medical retirement to health issue.  I'm married, and have a miracle son who is 3 years old.  I picked up a Glock 40 MOS a few weeks back and shot 50 rds through it---LOVE!!!!!

Plans for the 40 MOS:
a few more mags
Suppressor sights with dot on front
KKM barrel so I can shoot lead
Tac rubber grip tape
Get reloading dies, brass, bullets, powder, primers
Build leather holster for my crossdraw rig
Test loads

Hope to learn some things here, and enjoy the Path Of the 10!

Hello Jeff, Welcome to the forum and the world of 10mm shooting enthusiast...Congrats with the G-40, but the addiction is strong for these 10"s.  You're in the right place here, as there is a treasure trove of knowledge contained within the post here.
Best regards!  :D

Just saying hello from Arkansas.  I am 26 and have always been a big fan of the 10mm.  I currently own two 10mm's.  A Gen 3 Glock 29 and Smith & Wesson 1006.

L3gend10mm, welcome to the forum!  The 1006 is what I cut my 10mm teeth on early 1990 and due to the addiction I also have the G-29 (pre SF) & G-20SF.  Hope you enjoy yourself here.

Best regards! :D

Hello from the DFW area of Texas!

I've been thinking of dipping my toe back into the world of the 10mm and asked my friend Mr Google about 10mm conversions for the Glock 30 and .45 1911s.  This forum was one of the search results.

Had a Witness 6-8 years ago and I thought it threw the brass as far away as it could out of sheer spite and meanness.  Lurking around here the past couple of days, it appears that's just the nature of a 10mm semi-auto...

I've sometimes believed my 10mm's throw the empties into lower Earth orbit! ;)
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

awp101, Welcome to the forum and back into the world of 10mm!

Yes the slide speeds with full power ammo can send the brass out there...NASA and the ISS have issued warnings.

James from Oklahoma. Just got my first 10mm, a Sig P220 Elite Hunter. I have been reloading for years and always wanted a 10mm. The stars finally aligned (the wife said okay), and I got one.

I really like this pistol, it's a tack driver and soaks up the recoil of full power loads well. I normally carry my S&W 629 mountain gun in 44mag as backup when I'm hunting but wanted to try something different. Lots of flavors out there. I love the power of the 10mm in a semi auto package. I find myself plotting for a Glock 29 for ccw now.

I hope to try a little coyote and hog hunting with the Sig very soon.

Ethang

Hi guys,

Long story short, wanted a Bren Ten when I first saw the ad for the boxed Jeff Cooper set. Wanted one even more when Miami Vice came out when I was a youth. Placed on order for a 1006 when it was first announced. Got impatient and bought a 4506, then passed on the 1006 like an idiot. It's taken me 25 odd years to correct that but recently picked up a 1006 in nice condition. Getting geared up to load some real 10mm loads, the Freedom Munitions loads that came with the pistol are nice, but not ...enough.

I have been reading up and learning the platform. Thanks for having me.

Ethan

PS I won't even go into the Vitor disappointment.....

Jedimntrick & Ethang, welcome to the forum, I know Ethang came from the S&W forum as we communicated over there.
Glad to see continued interest in the 10mm and handloaders as well.  Enjoy the forum and don't hesitate to participate as everyone can bring good info for others to learn and share in the experiences.

Best regards!  :D

Hello everyone I just joined a few minutes ago. I discovered this site through a google search about ammunition comparisons.

Anyways.. My name is Bobby and I am from WV. Originally born and raised in VA but moved to WV 2 years ago.. I just got into the 10mm platform a few weeks ago when I purchased a Gen4 G29 from my uncle in VA and had it shipped to my local FFL. Anyways I have to say so far I love the 10mm platform I only had a chance to put 10 rounds through my G29 so far because I got it 2 days for my ankle reconstructive surgery which has had me laid up for the last 2+ weeks.
I carry it IWB using a Crossbreed SuperTuck Deluxe with a combat cut.. I am using Buffalo Bore Tac XP 155gr full power loads and she is peppy but I loves Barnes X bullets they're super consistent...

So far I have swapped the connector and added Trijicon Night Sights.. I am looking to do a few more mods such as extended slide stop, extended slide release,Tungsten Guide Rod and Light/Laser combo

Bobby Welcome to the forum and the world of 10mm firearms and ammo...Congrats with the G-29, mine was made just prior to the SF model coming out and it has been a very reliable gun with my only mod being the use of the Wolff non captive recoil rod and the 21 lb spring set...

Good luck with your recovery and give yourself time to heal properly!

If there was one ammo that had raised my eyebrows :o because of what was loaded inside, it would be the Buffalo Bore 155 gr Barnes TAC XP.  You can find that info and many others documented in the 10mm ammo Pull-Downs on this forum!

Enjoy the forum,  best regards!

Grew up, and still live in, south Alabama.  I've worked in law enforcement for the past 15 years and served on our SWAT team for 13 of those years.  I'm now assigned to the sniper position.
I needed a little excitement put back in hunting and decided to try my hand at hunting with a pistol.  I picked up a Glock 40 MOS with a Zev Tech trigger a couple weeks ago.  I've already topped it with a Trijicon RMR and stocked the closet with Underwood 185gr XTP's.  Now I'm just waiting for deer season to arrive.

Where in Southern Alabama? I'm in Mobile.

Just joined but I've been reading here anonymous alot recently. I'm 44 and currently a police officer in the South for the past 8 and a half years. Due to policy, the times, and just plain good sense I can't say the specific agency but I can say it is a city jurisdiction that covers a huge area and is right beside a major interstate. I currently am finishing up the part of my career that is a patrol officer and before the year is over will be in a full time investigator's position. I am an fto and Glock certified armorer among other things but my passion is in teaching new officers and older ones with bad habits pistol fundamentals. So much so I dedicate a minimum of 1 day every 2 weeks of my range time to teaching officers on my own time. My duty weapon currently is a Glock gen3 17C. I'm 100 percent happy with the performance of the gun and the ammo we use with the exception of our duty load vs. 4 legged predators. In my job I'm find myself more frequently having to deal with vicious dogs and I mean dogs that people are training to be vicious. I've had quite a few times where I have had to shoot a dog and even though it was necessary I felt it would have been more humane with a more powerful round. A rifle would be better but 99.9% of the time when I need a firearm something unexpected has happened and all I'll have is what is already on my side not what rides in my trunk.

With that in mind and the fact that I can basically carry any gun that I can get approved and qualify with I recently purchased a Glock 20SF. I already know what I want to do to it before next year's qualifications and should have all that done with enough time to get plenty of practice beforehand. So far I've purchased a Safariland holster but hopefully can get a few things with each paycheck in the future. So this is me saying hi. :)
