Welcome aboard Boksburger.  One of our very few foreign members and probably the first from the continent of Africa!

Let me first say hello to DrDave, hikfromstik and Darren as well as welcome to the forum.  Reading over your intros some of you guys are heavy into the various caliber/cartridges, this is cool because people like to bounce ideas and ask questions about many things.

Those looking into the reloading be sure to study the pull down sections to see what's there as it yields a wealth of data.

Enjoy the forum and Best regards!  :D

Critch

Well, I just my first 10mm pistol, a Rock Island Tactical 1911. I settled on it over the Glock or EAA due to the fact that I have so much 1911 gear....

I'm retired USAF AMMO, I'm 62 years old and I've been shooting since St. Peter was a corporal. I was a Scout leader for 20 years, I raised 3 Eagles, my sons, all are veterans or currently in the military.

I live here in beautiful Swamp-East, Missouri, where the skeeters are the size of fighter planes and ticks the size of dinner plates..I like beer.

I reload most of my ammo so excited to get started on this.

I hunt, fish, hike and l like bow hunting with my recurve and wooden arrows...

Critch, Thank you and your family for your service.  Welcome to the forum.  I share many of the same passions as I use to make my own arrows, wooden and aluminum.  Now I am teaching my young nephews the art of shooting and archery.

Down here in Louisiana we have dem ticks to tick us off too.  The mosquitoes can such you dry in mere seconds, gnats take slightly longer, but are also quite effective with their numbers at times.

Enjoy the forum, best regards!  :D

MIL-DOT here.  New to forum.  65 yrs but feel 85 !  Former USMC and ARMY & Reserves. I've lived in city all my life. Was fortunate enough to learn to shoot BB gun's at early age and also hunted. Dad was former WW2 MARINE island hopping and Uncle was former WW2 ARMY in the BULGE surrounded. They believed in firearms. In High School we even had shooting teams that competed. That was the Good ole days.  Times were Simpler but everyone was poor.  Well that bout sums it up. I have wife of 40 years and a son 39 yrs old. I'm retired and disabled and a broke down old mule. Wife is the same.  NOPE ! not a mule, but mule headed.   Tom

What's up guys?  My name is Tim, I am from the Daytona Beach area of Florida and I now officially in the 10mm club as I just bought a Gen. 4 Glock 20 literally 10 minutes ago.  I have primarily only shot 9mm and .223/5.56 I own a handgun(semi) in every class from full size to sub compact and a Ruger AR..  I have been toying with the idea of getting into a more potent caliber the past few months, originally toying with the idea of .357 Sig because I liked the ballistics it offered as a fast rather heavy hitting round.  I am getting into hog hunting and wanted a potent sidearm and I came across 10mm and started researching more into the cartridge and I liked what I saw so I went down to my shop I frequent often and everything lined up, they had a G20 in stock when they initially thought they didn't and they have 10mm in stock regularly and at good prices, better than online prices from what I have seen, saves on shipping since I don't usually buy bulk.  I went with Glock because I have a 26 and the versatility of the 20 is awesome and I can shoot 357 Sig by just swapping a barrel, it's like two guns in one, brilliant!  Haha, I can't wait to get out and shoot this thing and learn how to hand load and same a bit of money.

greetings gang; my name is Mike. from the Fla. Keys. I am 66 and have been shooting & hunting since I was a kid. I own & reload for a wide variety of calibers but was lacking a 10mm. so on my last birthday, I bought myself an EAA Witness full size steel. I have ben a .45acp fan for decades. I have been wanting a big bore high capacity pistol and the 10mm's higher capacity justified a new caliber to load for over a new .45. ;D  I love the feel of the CZ 75 and thats why I chose the Witness. it will be mostly used as a hunting side arm as I already have an assortment of more concealable pistols for CCW. I also like being able to shoot .40 Short & Wimpy from the same gun. :P
I have done a variety of "jobs" over the years from State Park Ranger to plumber but my main & current occupation is a commercial fisherman/diver. (on & off since 1970) I own & operate my own boats. in my old age, I have scaled down from offshore fishing (lobster, bottom long line & fish traps) a 50ft trawler to inshore lobster/stone crabbing on a 25ft. outboard.

Sounds great!  The Shadow can have different meanings...

Mine is based off the old radio program and the movie.

ahh yes, Lamont Cranston.  naming a boat is harder than naming a kid. :) its a long story but, while I was building the boat, I wen't out spearfishing on another boat. one day a big shadow came out of the gloom.and made an impression on me. a day or two later the guy from the Coast Guard comes to admeasure the boat for Documentation. and I had to have a name. I'd kicked around a few names  in my head but I said The Shadow, ;D

The_Shadow

Very cool story!  My Grandfather made many wooden boats in his day, and I have made a few pirogues and a small fiberglass open bay hull with center console.  We have done lots of recreational fishing and some commercial shrimping over the years down here. ;D
