Pick two factory loads

I have a gen 3 glock20c.  I have a Wolff steel guide rod and 22lb spring, or the factory spring.

Lots of options on underwood website.  So if I want a good carry round and a good woods round what should I look at?  Was thinking faster and lighter for everyday use or at the house and heavy/stout in the woods.  One thing about the woods round is the difference in defense vs hunting.  I can defend myself with anything I want.  But if I am bow hunting and decide I want to legally pistol hunt the black bear I just saw then it can't be FMJ.

Or is there one that is great for both?  I have extensive Glock experience and carry everyday on and off duty for 13 years.  Most likely will daily carry 9mm but want the G20 option.  Woods will be G20. I just don't have 10mm experience, yet.

Any opinions from you guys that really know the difference in the 10mm rounds would be greatly appreciated.

165 grain Gold dot for human predators. I would say you could use the 165 fmj for bear, but you said no fmj.

Can you use a hardcast bullet for bear?

If not then the Underwood 200 grain XTP, or better yet the new 180 grain soft point (Vital Shok) from Federal.

What about the New Federal 180 grain Trophy Bonded Jacketed Soft Point for your Hunting needs?
VITAL•SHOK® TROPHY BONDED® 10MM AUTO

The new Vital-Shok™ Trophy Bonded 10mm Auto is a full-power load that takes complete advantage of the caliber's true capability. While most 10mm loads are watered down to produce ballistics similar to those of the 40 S&W, this cartridge offers the muscle needed for both big game hunting and personal protection. Its new Trophy Bonded Jacketed Soft Point bullet design makes the load even more effective. Based on the proven Trophy Bonded® Bear Claw® rifle bullet, its heavy jacket features a formed inner profile that preprograms and controls expansion to ensure deep penetration.

Features & Benefits
•Full-power 10mm Auto load provides superior downrange energy
•1275 fps muzzle velocity
•Trophy Bonded JSP bullet provides consistent expansion and deep penetration
•Nickel-plated case for easy extraction

Thanks guys.

165 gold dots sound good.  I had some day dream about super fast light hollow points making coyotes explode.  But 165 seems about right.

I would love to try the federal load. Trying to get the local store to carry it.  I can use hardcast and had   considered the 200 xtp.  If it were between the the xtp or the nosler 200 grain would I ever know the difference?

4949shooter

Maybe. The XTP is a tougher bullet, though the Nosler was designed for Doubletap for use in 10mm.

Would like to see a comparison between the two in gel.

Me too.  Xtp is tougher, got it.  Leaning toward it
