Show me where your getting a Delta Elite for $800, and I'll get it tomorrow. They're all about 1 grand or more on Gunbroker. And that's for a used one.

I love my only SIG, a P229. I drool over getting one in 10mm.

As was mentioned you could find Deltas around that price a while back. Now you can get them for just over $1000.

Fact is, I have carried a Sig for the last 14 years, and I don't want to pay $1200 to $1500 for one. Nothing wrong with Sigs mind you, but this is my own personal preference.

I'd rather have the witness limited with 15

Id rather have an M&P in 10mm, but we all know Smith and Wesson doesn't have the Cahonies to make one.

EDIT, and Id gladly pay well more than current M&P prices for one.
M&P was first pistol I ever owned. Had them in every caliber.  Still have sig .357 slide & barrel as parts.
Traded & sold all for tanfoglio pistols.

I have to say a Colt Delta Elite for $800.00 is not the norm on Gunbroker and hasn't been in quite some time. And whenever one does sell in the $800.00 range its usually not in the greatest condition. I do love them though :) Still, I think I will need one of these new Sig P220's to add to my 10mm collection. The lack of higher capacity does not bother me and I would still rather have this Sig than a something like a Glock in 10mm for less money. That big, heavy P220 sounds more appealing to me for chambering 10mm :)

I had a m&p 9mm and the trigger was terrible but last time I was at the range a guy let me fire one that had an apex trigger, I would love one in a 10mm.

Like I said, a while back you could find a Delta for as low as $800. I was looking at them in 2011.

Nothing wrong with Sigs (I have carried them for over a decade). I just don't want to spend $1200 to $1500 on one.

Yeah there is that. Let's say I actually could find an $800 Delta. At that price I assume it will NOT be the greatest condition. My other choice is an $800 SIG, new in box.

I'm going SIG!
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Find a Sig in 10mm NIB for $800 and I will give it serious consideration.

gandog56

I saw an MSRP of like 1400, but almost nobody that knows anything doesn't pay near MRSP.

If I could get one for around $800 i would be interested.

It isn't high cap, but Sig makes a solid gun.

Patriot

8 round capacity just won't cut it. I want to write Sig and let them know how I feel, but don't want to sound ungrateful.

My biggest concern is that these things don't sell and they cancel the program. How many people are really going to drop $1,200-$1,400 on one of these? What is the role this gun can fill that others can't? What will make it successful?

Will a police department pick it up? Obviously not with an 8 round capacity and that price tag.
Military? Not a chance.
Concealed carry? The 220 is a huge gun and there are better options.
Home protection? Obviously 10mm is great but just about any pistol/revolver can work for that.
Hunting? Possibly. The single action model might make a good deer/black bear/hog pistol. But a Witness Hunter has a 6 inch barrel and costs less.

The only thing I see this pistol being good for is competition shooting. But that won't sell guns. Our competition shooting section of this forum only has 5 topics. Sig won't make money off of those type of collectors.

Sig needs to go back to the drawing board, come up with a 15 round P226 or P227 for around $850-$1,100 depending on features. I'd buy two on the spot.

Wolfie

My gun store sold out of the 6 he was allocated. No one has bought any of the G40's he has on order.

Sig comes out with a gun and ammo and people still knock them. Don't buy the gun, I am hearing that they will make only a few runs of the gun anyway.

Maybe  Sig can make a 30 round extended magazine to attract the cammo types to buying one.

It does with me. I've always figured that if I need more than 8 shots, I should be running, not shooting. All my 10mm pistols are 8 rounds. OK, I cheated, and about 1/4 of my mags I put in the Chip McCormick springs and followers to make them 9 rounders.

Of course it does help I can do this with them......

Again Wolfie, the price isn't right. I can't afford one, at least not at this point.

They would sell a whole lot more of the 10mm guns if they were in the $800 price range.

That's my thought on it.

The 10mm round isn't all that popular in military or LE anyway. I doubt Sig was aiming at that market with a P220 in 10mm. I do believe they have at least one hunting variation of it planned. Sure I'd like to get it for much less too but you can make the same argument about most of their guns, a P226 in 9mm is a lot more expensive than a Glock or Beretta. But they still sell. The capacity issue, well that's another matter. Most other 10mm guns are 1911 based with not much more capacity, yes there are exceptions like Glock but for the most part its a 1911 world in 10mm. The P220 is a quality gun so chambering it in 10mm makes sense to me. It gives us one more option in 10mm :)

Amen brother, combine that with the thought that IF, IF you have an attacker running at you, you aren't very likely to go through the 8 in the gun anyway. So unless you are getting into some gang banger shootout more than eight probably isnt going to help you defensively. If you are getting into gang banger shootouts, your probably gonna need more than the 14 your glock has so plan on bringing extra mags.

The only place that I can say I would be disappointed with 8 is the range or something like IDPA, but 8 rounds in the mag helps me slow my ammo consumption.

I am eagerly awaiting the one with the red dot sight from the factory though. I fully intend to take a deer this november with that bad boy. Hell if it runs well enough and I can find enough mags, I might just run a round or two at my local gun range where they have the steel shoot competitions just to see how I do with it.
