Yeah, but your .40 is about the same geometry at a .45 or a 9mm in regards to diameter/length.  The 10 and the 38 super pose unique challenges as they are long for their diameter.

I have 2 1911 10mm's. I have no problem with them. Why should a SIG be that different?
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

I think the best thing about this announcement is the added attention it brings to the 10mm overall.  I have to hope that, having seen SIG jump into the 10mm market, other companies will be more inclined to follow suit:  CZ? S&W? Are you paying attention?

For me, a handgun line doesn't interest me unless I can cover the range from 9mm to 10mm.  That is, I don't want one manual of arms for my 10mm and a separate manual of arms for another carry gun.   This is the first thing that's really interested me in the SIG line, and like I said in the Grand Power thread, the addition of a 10mm garners my interest in getting a p226  as well as a 10mm.

I consider the 10mm a flagship chambering: not many people will buy one, but it's the like the Shelby GT500 at the top of the Mustang line.  A lot of people buy V6 Mustangs and dream of Shelbys.  Having a 10mm draws attention to the whole range.

Just my 2c.

Buddy is correct, bought the Razorback, saw how sweet it was and then got the PM 9. Would have never looked at it without the 10 mm.

So true. Glock's 10mm 20 is what brought me to Glock. Have 3 models now.

So, what we're saying is we're not 10mm fans, we're 10mm whores: we'll sell ourselves to anyone with a good 10mm?  :))

I have my Colt Delta Elites but I also like Sig. I hope to pick up one of these new P220's in 10mm when they release them. And as others have said, it is to our benifit when more manufacturers jump into the 10mm ring. I saw Sig's move with this P220 along with Federal's announcement of their new 10mm load as good news. If others jump back in maybe 10mm ammo won't seem semi exotic to many as it does now.

Of course, if 10mm becomes too commonplace, I'll lose my bragging rights.  Can't be proving my machismo if I've only got the same chambering as everyone else!

Ill gladly give up my bragging rights for 10mm to become common place. I dream of a day the ammo is on the shelf next to 45acp for a cheaper price. Unfortunately that won't happen until the military tells recruits to man up and learn to shoot a 10mm, which won't happen.

But ahhhh, a man can dream!

Wolfie

They will be out mid to late March.

Lipseys has the exclusive, if you want one get it through Lipseys via your  LGS as they may not make another run for awhile.

Cannot wait to get mine.

Ehh, I reload so ammo is not a problem since 10mm and the way more common .40 cal S&W use the same components except for the cases.

Same boat for me, but imagine the popularity increase it would have it the ammo could be gotten off the shelf for more reasonable prices. Heck lets cut that down to just commonly available and it would still be a good bump.

Bruno747

Looks like Tom Gresham got the first gt20 in. In slow mo, looks like that gun needs some stiffer springs. You can see the recoil and then a significant extra shock backwards when the slide bottoms out. Here's hoping wolf makes us some increased strength ones of I forsee a fair amount of failures from being battered.

It will never be so popular I can't reload them cheaper!
