After a long wait, I finally got my first 10mm

Brand new gen3 Glock 20sf

And my first shots!

It was hard finding ammo, the shop I bought the gun from had no ammo in stock, but another a few towns over had some, I bought all 200 rounds!

Now I just need to order some starline brass, and some hot underwood ammo.

As well as some goodies for the new gun.

I'm thinking a lone wolf barrel, better sights, springs, and trigger.

nice, just picked mine up a few weeks ago. :)

Congratulations. Underwood ammo will help show what the 10mm hoopla is all about.

An unmodified Glock works pretty well. I agree about needing better sights. I did change the recoil guide rod to a metal one cause the original one started looking kind of ratty on the end that extends out of the slide. Other than that, my Gen 3 Glock 29 handles the hot stuff.

Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Thanks guys.

What does everyone recommend for modifications?

There are some many options that I start to get lost.

I think right now it will be primarily a range toy and winter carry.

I need a new barrel, what are the advanteges of the 6" verse stock length and is it worth it?

I was thinking about competition shooting but maybe I'll get the 40s&w barrel for that so I don't need to worry about loosing brass.

For sights maybe the warren tactical, everyone seams to like them.

Now for the trigger, my G27 just has a ghost 3.5 connector and it's not bad. One of the guys at the gun shop uses a lightning strike. Another buddy has the 3.5 connector and just polished everything.
What triggers do you guys like?

Haven't got much of a clue about springs, just that if I run hot stuff I want a heavier spring, I think I will just go with a 22lb.

Rick1987

well i placed a order today.

got the storm lake 6" barrel, everyone was sold out of lone wolf.
Extended Slide Stop Lever
Ghost GLOCK Standard 3.5 lb Drop In Connector
Glockmeister Competition Trigger Spring
Glockmeister Extra Power Firing Pin Spring
Glockmeister Reduced Power Firing Pin Spring (figure i would try out both to see what i like better)
Scherer +2 Exension For FML G20, 21 Hi-Cap Mags
Glockmeister Grip Plug for G20SF & G21SF
and
Glockmeister Stainless Steel Recoil Spring Assembly with 22lb spring

I figure that should be a good start. and ill polish all the trigger parts when i go to install everything.

Your order looks great.  Can't think of anything I'ld add to it.

Who did you order the Storm Lake barrel through?  I ordered the same one directly from Storm Lake.  The estimated ship date was yesterday.  For all I know it's in the mail on the way.  I'll call them later in the morning and see.  Anyway, I still plan on also getting their extended length barrel for my G29, and that's mainly why I ask where your got yours.

Good lookin 10MM. I put a 3.5lb connector with spring kit in my G20SF.

I got everything from glockmeister.

And I should have 200 rounds of underwood ammo here tomorrow.

Now I just have to find some nice sights. I'm not going to lie, I'm starting to like the factory glock sights.

Your G20 sounds like mine. I like the Glock trigger, so I didn't mess with that. Storm Lake has not delivered my bbl yet(I ordered it at the end of May). I will never do business with them again!

What kind of ammo did you get from Underwood?

Are we still doing a Huge Bulk Order guys?

135gr JHP and 180gr JHP

And I found out yesterday my barrel is on back order as well.

I will try finding another one next week.

Rick, get out and play with that pistol before you start changing too many things.  If and when you make changes do so taking notes just to see how things work.  I have read where others change some things and found the original stuff running better.

Yet still others have enjoyed the changes...on my G-29 I only changed the factory recoil/spring rod after the spring slipped of the plastic button. (Glock replaced it promptly)  I run with the Wolff non captive two piece rod and 21 lb spring set for the various barrels I use with it.

I like my 10mm & 40 S&W Storm Lake barrels for the G-29, very accurate.

Good luck with yours!

Agree with Shadow. Get it out and shoot it some before making changes, other than sights.

I prefer the factory Glock sights too. The popular plain black style works great on paper but not as good in the woods or for any fast shooting.

Rick1987

Ya I figure I will keep it stock for a little while.

Shot some underwood last night, man that is some sweet ammo!

I figure Ill put the extended slide stop and 3.5 connector, since that is what I'm used to on my G27.

The barrel is just to save the brass.

I think I will wait to put the springs in.

And I am liking the factor sights more and more now.
