I would if I could find one, I have a kto 1911 frame on order and will be doing an sti longslide set up with a 7 inch ported barrel. It should be a sweet set up when its all done. I shot a glock and didn't care for it so 1911 it is.

I would recommend a Glock 20 or G40( when the 40 comes available ) because of the versatility and the countless after market parts available.

This my setup for pigs and deer - also bear?

G20sf Gen 3 LW 6.6" barrel with Aim Point and 20lb spring

Would have tried it last year but had a slight hic-up in my plans - had to have my bi-cep reattached in my left arm and tthen right after that had my left knee replaced - slowed me down for the last year and a half, don't heal as quick at my age, but ready for this year I hope.

Stock glocks are not too wonderful. There's the new glock 40 coming out and the three Sig 10mm. Also check out the Eaa line up.

Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

gandog56

Maybe if they ever made a Glock like this..... :P

Gandog - I have the perfect Glock for you and your dainty pinkies
the Glock 42.
We know you don't like Glocks - I hate 1911's - I've shot 1911' s since the late 60's to qualify for certain programs - but I don't make it a vendetta to bad mouth them every change I get - I believe in the saying - what ever blows your skirt.

Does the G40 fit in my rather small short fingered hand? So far I haven't found a single Glock model that has. I have shot a few. And in every one of them I did the following test. I pointed at the target without aiming and shot. Every single Glock I ever shot doing that I shot way, way, too high. When I do it with a 1911 I'm usually somewhere right in the ballpark. I think the Glock uses a grip angle that is just alien feeling to me, and I naturally shoot them high. Not good in a self defense draw fast situation. I'm sticking to my 1911's.

I see the OP has made his decision and it sounds like it will be a great gun.

As to shooting Glocks I was reminded of this yesterday as my 15 yr old son tried my Gen 4 29 for the first time, and that is that it seems to me the first time any honest person shoots a Glock, you don't hit right where you feel you should. The more you shoot a Glock, if you choose to own and shoot Glocks, the more you get used to it and tune into the gun. And it really doesn't take long. Maybe a couple trips to the range.

Now, I have Glocks, 1911s, revolvers (DA & SA), and M&Ps so I don't believe I'm any kind of fanboy.

If you want to shoot a Glock you can.

They're a heck of a lot eassier to shoot than something that's setup as double action only. With an easy ghost connector being added that I can do myself it becomes close to a true single action. My Glock 29 compared to my PPQ is very close. The PPQ is considered the finest polymer trigger by most.
