For some reason I never think of Utah having problems with this type of sentiment. Guess I was wrong. Good response by writer Larry Correia a resident of Utah on his blog. Off this subject, but even at my age, I enjoy reading his fiction.

Larry is a class act.  He has several good friends in a groups I shoot with occasionally, and I have been privileged to meet him several years back.  He has an increasingly hard time making it to our outings with his schedule for some reason.

Yes, we have our fair share of anti-gun nuts here in Salt Lake City.  Luckily we have pretty good gun laws despite the occasional crazy editorial.  The biggest complaint I have against the Deseret News and KSL (the LDS church owned print and electrontic media conglomerate) is there somewhat recent elimination of firearm related classifieds from their otherwise excellent online marketplace.  I do miss the ability to find great deals locally.  I picked up my Glock 29 via KSL Classifieds and it was a great deal for both me and the poor seller who was moving to Hawaii.

I will also say that I have serious issues with the way the conservative majority runs this state.  The left doesn't have a lock on idiocy unfortunately.  Living here has given me both a healthy respect for balanced legislatures, and disgust with both dominant policitical parties in the US.

Obviously I posted this to get your response. Larry's take downs on things like this are pretty funny. The Georgia legislature is Republican controlled and has been voted the most corrupt in the country. Just shows there isn't much difference between the two parties. They both want big government and the rest of us are just around to pay the bill.
