I'm hoping to have these by the evening for testing. I haven't personally done the Silvertips either so we shall see where they fall.

REDLINE

I'll be curious for the outcome of both.  But especially the Silvertip load from your gun or guns.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Man I burned through some ammo $$$ today! :o Anyway... Silvertips were different for me and wonder if they should be in the 600LB Club? They will be borderline in a Glock 20 4.6" but the sheet will be updated to these numbers.

Winchester 175gr Silvertips (Match) 1294, 1309, 1251, 1223, 1281, 1295. Average = 1275.5 FPS/ 632.07 LBS. Sucks about the low one but it is what it is!
Winchester 175gr Silvertips (Razorback) 1337, 1359, 1349, 1345. Average = 1347.5 FPS/ 705.44 LBS.

Hornady 165gr Critical Defense (Match) 1234, 1261, 1256, 1262, 1269. Average = 1256.4 FPS/ 578.4 LBS.
Hornady 165gr Critical Defense (Razorback) 1292, 1317. Average = 1304.5 FPS/ 623.36 LBS.

RightToBear 180gr FMJ (Match) 1292, 1305, 1310, 1272, 1267, 1266, 1318, 1290, 1276, 1320. Average = 1291.6 FPS/ 666.65 LBS.
RightToBear 180gr FMJ (Razorback) 1337, 1382, 1374, 1323, 1398, 1325, 1381, 1333, 1355, 1371. Average = 1358 FPS/ 736.95 LBS.

American Eagle 180gr FMJ (Match) 1142, 1151, 1105, 1091, 1096. Average = 1117 FPS/ 498.59 LBS.
American Eagle 180gr FMJ (Razorback) 1149, 1180, 1161, 1165. Average = 1163.75 FPS/ 541.2 LBS.

Intercooler, what is your opinion of the silvertip as a PDR? I use 155 silvertips in my glock 22 and no problems. Pending the testing data from our youtube friend on underwood ammo, would you use the 175 silvertips for defense?

If you do not reccomend them, may I ask what you think is a good 10mm defense round for CCW. I am ordering my Glock 20 next week and plan it to be my carry weapon and I was planning on using the 175 silvertips in the gun.

Thanks again for all the work you did and trying the silvertips.

The Silvertips are a proven performer and part of why they have stuck around. The Barnes all copper are pretty high on my list for HD. Hold tight, Kevin Underwood told me yesterday he has Barnes bullets in route and that would be my first choice. The Gold Dots and Hydra Shoks are also pretty proven. Later this year tnoutdoors9 will be doing SIM media testing of 10mm rounds and all these will be in there. It will tell the tale!

I happen to obtain some old school 10mm rounds.I got 2 boxes of Federal Hi Power 180 grain 10C and almost a full box of PMC 200 grain TC FMJ.Im guessing this was back in the 80's,90's.Any info appriciated.

Intercooler

Can you post up pictures of ammo and boxes? PMC 200's are still made.

Yes I have been fallowing his channel and all his awesome vid's on testing. I am also very anxious to see his results with the 10mm.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

The Winchester 10mm 175gr Silvertip load just isn't what it used to be.  Shot to shot consistency isn't there to brag about either.  Wish they would step up their game in 10mm, adding at least the 155gr Silvertip in the lineup too.  Hopefully things will change for the better at some later date in time.  Still, at least the load is borderline acceptable, and available.

It will be interesting to see how all the testing of 10mm pans out. After watching many tests of other calibers sometimes going a million FPS, etc... isn't the answer.

I have been shooting and carrying the Winchester Silvertips in 10MM since they where new! In those days it was in a Delta and they shot very well. I haven't shoot a big game animal with one, but recently chronographed them thru a couple different barrels too.

Here is a factory G20 barrel,

a LW 5.5" ported barrel

Lastly a KKM 6" barrel all at about 15" from the muzzle.

I was impressed with the velocities I reached.

The G20 video it seems quite and not much punch. What's up with that one?

I have noticed a G20 all stock trend. They underperform without upping the spring from what I can see.

Not to make light of your work or opinion, but even from the 6" barrel the Silvertips fail to meet their published velocity of 1290 from a 5" barrel, it got close enought to not complain with your long barrel, but again way off with your 5.5" even.

I still have some faith in the Silvertip load, but it is a bit faded at the moment.

What are you guys running for springs? I find it hard to believe something in my Witness makes it put up better results than Glocks except if they aren't up to the task from jump (too weak spring). Tuesday or Wednesday I hope to have some answers to these questions.

Mine I guess will be stock, going to order the G20sf and I don't think I can order it with heavier recoil springs from the factory, please correct me if I am wrong on that.

If it is the case, I will see what you data shows and get an after market spring.
