Ruger LC9 & LC9s

Was using a LC9 for c/c. It was concealable in the pocket with loose fitting pants but had about a 7lb trigger pull and was so looong.
Tried a LC9s and it had a much shorter pull and and is about 5 ½ lbs.
Can't understand why Ruger didn't initially come out with being striker fired in stead of using a shrouded hammer.
It has a little recoil but not unmanageable and is a great improvement over the LC9. It doesn't have the "dorsal fin " which doesn't bother me but has a gap in the hood to see if there is a round chambered but doesn't have the internal lock which I liked. If I was gong to go into a place where c/c was forbidden, all I had to do was lock it and remove the mag. and it would be rendered unfireable so now I have to remove the mag and clear the chambered round or either put a trigger lock on it. All in all, a great "pocket" pistol and in my book, a keeper.

Maybe it is obvious to others, but it looks to me like you meant to but something other than LC9 somewhere....LCP maybe? Or LCR?

The LCP is the .380, the LC9 is the 9mm

Ruger was able to use parts already on hand in the correct dimensions when they produced the first Gen LCP/LC9 series. They had to re-engineer their striker fire system from the SR series pistols to meet the smaller available area and still be strong enough for use in the LC series.

I enjoy shooting mine. The LC9s pro has recently come out. Kind of wish I had waited seeing this looses the magazine disconnect. Considering buying some night sights for mine. Think all carry guns should have them.

I was going to get the lc9 but my dealer friend said wait.. the 9s was a bout to come out. Glad i waited. Love that little gun, its always in my pocket. I like having the manual safety so im not concerned about the pro. I did remove the magazine disconnect on mine though, just took a few minutes.

Was it pretty simple to do? I took mine out of my SR40c but the LC9s looked a little crazy and I didn't want to harm anything.

Its very simple, easier than taking a glock apart honestly. I did mine two weeks after having hand surgery.
Just take slide off and remove pins holding trigger assembly in. I didnt take it all the way apart because i could not really use my left hand because of the surgery. I cheated and slit the mag disconnect with a dremel on one side and lightly pried it apart.

I found the mag disconnect in the original box, it looks like i just cut it with a pair of wire cutters and twisted it out. I dont really remember.. i assumed i used the dremel because of the condition of my left hand at the time.
