Still thinking about a Glock 20 for hunting. However in Wisconsin we need a 6 inch barrel. What after market barrels do you recommend? KKM, Lone Wolf, or the 6" Glock factory barrel. Also I was thinking about a Burris Fast Fire on the slide, anyone out in 10mm land using this type of set up? Any help would be appreciated. I have scene the Glock scope mounts that mount under the frame on the light rail. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the help

I can comment on the scope mount that attaches to the light rail. IF you can still find some of the aluminum machined style, they work well. They stay stiff enough to keep the scope stable. The composite style however flex and allow the scope mount to come loose. If you don't mind having a gunsmith mount one, there are frame style that attach in the same manner as the Witness mounts.

If you are only intending on mounting a red dot, I would recommend one like the Fastfire or the EOTech. Your hunting range is going to easily be within range of a non-magnified scope. If you want a magnified scope, then, definately one of the frame mounted style in aluminum is what you are going to want to look for.

Can't speak to your optics question but as to 6" barrel.

Quite a few members here with 6" drop in barrels for the Glock 20.
I have the KKM drop in 6" barrel and have nothing but great things to say about it.  Very good accuracy and so far never a FTF or FTE.  I did quite a bit of research before my drop in barrel purchase.  I found mixed reviews on Lone Wolf (many were very positive but some where dissatisfied).  I went with KKM because I don't recall ever seeing a negative review for their drop in barrel for Glocks.

Good luck!

For the barrel I would recommend the Kkm or the glock. I bought the stormlake and it works with everything other than Underwood. Problem is Underwood is everything. Well, if you like power it is.

6" KKM barrel for mine.

I like nick's set up.....I'm looking at the FFIII set up for mine.
Some days it's just good to be lucky; rather than just good looking!

I bought a Glock 20SF in the spring and here are my thoughts.  First, I added a 6 inch KKM barrel, a Zev Tech Fulcrum adjustable trigger (after first trying a 3.5 lb Ghost connector) and recently a Trijicon RMR06 using their dovetail mount. I've handloaded Double Tap's 200 grain WFNGC, 200 grain XTPs, 200 grain Noslers and some Berry's 180s for practice. The KKM has worked flawlessly with no malfunctions at all.

I haven't got the chance to fire the pistol with the RMR mounted just yet.  All my prior shooting was with the original Glock sights and then I added a set of Dawson Precision sights-adjustable rear and fiber optic front. The Dawson sights are awesome.

I don't know how old you are but I'll be 50 in January and I just can't see the front sight clearly anymore so I thought I'd try the RMR. The dovetail mount fit pretty tight and I added some Loctite to it to help keep it in place. (There is also a set screw) If the RMR works well, then I'll be all set. If not, I'll probably sell the Glock.

If you plan to buy one, I highly suggest you find someone who has a Glock of any caliber you can shoot to see if you can live with the trigger. Even with the Zev Fulcrum installed, I don't like mine and it requires a lot of practice to learn to shoot with it. If you are expecting a 1911 or single action revolver type of trigger pull...you will be disappointed. The Glock's reliability is held in high regard but its trigger takes some gettin used to.

I purchased a 20SF last year with the intent to hunt with it as well.  I replaced the factory barrel with a 6" KKM mainly so I could shoot cast bullets.  I also added a JPoint reflex sight and it is a great sight.  The sight has endured over 600 rounds so far and has held up with no issues.  I have the same sight on a 500 Linebaugh revolver.

This is the bad part of making a G20 hunting gun - the choices - a couple of pics of my morphing 20sf - with 6.62"LW barrel, 3.5 ghost trigger 20lb recoil spring. And a host of sights and different mounts.

This third one should be the final setup I hope

With the aftermarket barrels, and full 10mm loads (Underwood, etc), what weight return spring is recommended?  I was looking at KKM or Bar-Sto barrel - it seems like most like the KKM so leaning that way.

The 22 lb spring is a common one. I'd recommend that.
