This one hasn't been done yet, so I lumped them in with my order. The gel testing of both of these will be interesting! I think I will see if Raggedyman wants a couple extra to test the "drywall theory".

I thought about picking up some of these for pest (coyote) control around the homestead. Will be interested to see the velocity and gel results.

46gr at 2400fps?!? Running it though a muzzle energy calc it says 588ftlbs  :o I wonder what it does out of a 6in barrel? I bet it will penetrate even less out of the longer tube....

Sounds like these would make horrible wounds but prolly not go to far into something meaty....I really will be interested in the gel tests aswell.... im guessing it will look horrific though.

Yeah..Shred the skin and muscle, not much else.

I changed this one up! I didn't realize I put the 9mm Swat version in my cart  :o

Here is the Defender 96gr which looks to use DoubleTap brass.

Looks like a conventional hollowpoint from here.

From what im seeing the .40 version only had 7in's of penetration!?  :o quite explosive though.... I wonder if it will penetrate farther, or less in 10mm? Either way I imagine it will be explosive.... should be neat to see!

4949shooter

That is some serious cavitation. I agree the 40 did not penetrate much. I don't expect the 10mm to be any better with higher velocities.

Less.

I don't see it penetrating any better. That is not the intent of the round. The idea is to cause MASSIVE wound shock from intense immediate energy transfer. I would suspect the penetration through 4 layers of Denim to duplicate the FBI penetration testing would have a few FTP situations. However, there is a reason they put "Trauma Plates" into Ballistic Vests  ;)  The Impact is going to leave one hell of a bruise even if it doesn't actually penetrate. Easily break a rib or two, and make your heart skip a beat or two just from the energy release at impact.
It's my DiMMe

Finally the weather broke and I ran these through just the Limited. The Hunter is down for a face-lift and I will run them in the longer barrel later. I put a couple of "send backs" from The Shadow's pull-downs over again. They don't always give the initial results due to case tension.
