Went shooting this morning and my Glock 29 had these rounds tumbling all over the place. Was very surprised as I have never seen it do this with anything else. I also shot these with my Match and did not have this issue. Will shoot something else with the G29 next time and see if this is some kind of new issue with the gun or just completely ammo related. Decent ammo and midpower. I really cant hate it. Maybe IT just hates my Glock 29 and that is fine. Just hope the gun is still ready to shoot everything else straight.

The Lax rounds out of my Glock. They were fine in the Match. I've yet to have a problem with my new tank.

You mean when they were fired you saw signs of tumbling on the target? I would inspect the barrel. Have you shot any lead rounds?

Dave84

Yes, a couple straight dead on shots that look like .40/10mm (clean punches) and some random huge keyhole tears inches off target.
I have shot several UW and DT hardcast rounds out of it in the past to ensure reliability for woods carry. Has been cleaned many times since. I will inspect and clean it, then test the gun with LAX and some Armscor next weekend.

Dave84

Cleaned and inspected the barrel. I'm no gun smith but that thing looks pristine. Will test next Saturday.

It is probably plated bullets, of which they could be thinly plated as well as small in diameter (0.3990") and not doing well with the faster twist of the Glock hexagonal rifling. one turn in 9.84", this spins the bullets faster than the conventional 1:16" twist rate.

GLOCK BARREL RIFLING right hand, hexagonal
LENGTH OF TWIST 250 mm / 9.84 in.

I haven't noticed any tumbling with the same ammo out of my G20. Could this be due in part to the G29's shorter barrel?

Dave84

Yes, it could be the relatively short barrel and or the twist rate or the bullet type.
Shot 50 of these and it would still have some rounds tumbling. My glock 20 with a stormlake barrel shot them fine. I also brought a box of armscor and it shot point of aim.
No big deal. Lax just doesn't like short glock barrels. Other than that it is good ammo.
