My attorney has Delta(old) and i have GeeLock 20. We are considering trading guns, I have to add some money of course. As 40 year long 1911 shooter, I really love the 1911. As a new  Glock shooter, i can say this trade may not work. I like the Glock, except its UGLY. But it carries 16 rounds and there is an extra 15 right handy. It sure isnt a heavy loaded 45 Colt or 500 linebaugh, but 31 rounds makes me feel pretty ok when we are on the mountain.
What would you do?

That's a tough call, you can always buy another Glike...then you would have one of each!  :o
If you want the 1911 DE as a shooter you'll give up even more chamber support!   ???

I have an affinity for Colts myself.....never liked Glocks until I bought a G20SF. Wanted a 10mm, price, etc... It's made me do a complete 180 on my opinion. I've been thinking of getting another 10mm in a 1911 platform, but the Glock will be staying. Only you can decide....for me it would depend a lot on the cash difference. You can buy a new Delta as well as a new Glock. I don't see any reason for an older Delta to be worth the price of a new one. Some seem to think otherwise.....

I agree.  trade for the 1911 and run down and buy another Glock.

REDLINE

I would keep the Glock for sure because of the added chamber support over the Delta Elite.  The Delta Elite chamber support is so poor that Underwood Ammunition sells specific 10mm loads just for it that are downloaded (less pressure/velocity) just to keep things safe.

So if you really want a Delta Elite, still keep the Glock and get the 1911 on the side.  Not much sense in choosing 10mm at all if one doesn't have a platform capable of shooting real 10mm ammo, as opposed to the watered down stuff.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Trade(if the price is right). There are plenty of G20 you can pick up but not near as many Deltas

Like you I really like the Glocks, buy mines a 29

DEGOLDCUP

Go with the Delta, I love mine. While I have an affinity for Glocks also and own one, I will never sell my Delta Gold Cup.

It has been said before, but how much bread are you going to have to drop for the trade? I see about 5 Deltas at each gun show I go to. I don't see that many G20's. That may just be around my area, but the Deltas haven't seemed too scarce around here(western WY). Having said that, they are pretty proud of them, and they demand top $.

If the delta is in good condition I'd go for it.I had a combat delta 10 and it ran fine.I handload and run some hot loads through it and didn't have any problems.I got a ported firedragon barrel for it and it ran well with it also. They only made 400 and I got 400 dollars more than what I paid for it.Since it was rare I didn't customize it.1911's are second to none in accuracy and trigger pull if done right. You can have the colt customized or do it yourself.Jerry Kuhnhausens book the colt 45 automatic is a fine one for showing how to improve and accuraize anything on the 1911.Anyone who has a 1911 would probably enjoy reading what can be done to them to make a great design even better.Once you've shot a fine tuned 1911 it's hard to like something else. It's that way for me.I like other pistols but the accuracy and trigger pull seems not as good.My DW RZ-10 shoots inch and a half at 15 yards offhand and it is my go to pistol. It does the same rested at 25.
A delta can shoot just as well. Some from the factory can,but if not a smith can make them as good as can be.Colts hold their value.
