I like both, I am just wondering if anyone has done any side-by-side comparison and notice any accuracy differences between the two (any caliber) but 10mm in particular?

Thanks,

Pat

I have shot a bunch of both through my Glock 20 and 29. I feel the only true difference is the velocity. DT does not meet it's claims on some of its ammo. The only advantage DT has over UW is DT loads a 200gr hard cast and UW does not.

Underwood tends to beat DT speed wise.  Underwood is quite a bit cheaper, which means I stopped buying DT quite a long time ago.  DT inflated the speed figures (or tests with a really long barrel) so take that into account.

I don't buy much Underwood anymore either, as handloading with new Starline brass is much less money and my favored loadings seem to be a few tenths of a grain less powder and I like 800x powder weighed individually, which Underwood has been replacing with other powders and pressures seem higher with those powders.  In other words I like the abiity to load 'em the way I like 'em.

Both Underwood and DoubleTap are good loadings.  Try one and see if they meet your needs.  If not try the other.

By coincidence, I shot both in 180 grains just today.  It was also my first time shooting 10mm.  Groups from 25 feet were close enough to almost call identical, tho I had one flyer with the Underwood that did not even hit the paper.  The Underwood had more felt recoil (not very much) so was probably loaded the warmest.

Underwood group 2.5 inches with one flyer.  DT group 2.6 inches with no flyers.

Double Tap 180 Grains 1250 fps / 625 fpe
Underwood 180 Grains 1300 fps / 676 fpe

From reviews I've seen by tnoutdoors9 on YouTube, Underwood seems to shoot about 25 fps over the published fps.  I would choose the Underwood between these two.

I wonder why Underwood is going away from Hi Skor 800X? That seems to be the perfect 10mm powder providing top performace with the least amount of pressure compared to other powders. Is it because it's difficult to meter accurately and consistently?

It was said that the change was because he switched to CAMDEX type loaders and the LongShot metered more consistently.
But I'm not sure if Kevin occasionally uses the IMR800X for some runs.  I haven't had the chance to pull many more to see.

IC is sending some new stuff for a sneak peak, and those will be interesting. ;)

With all the different 10mm rounds bought these last 12 months....none have been double taps.
But have decided that for high impulse ammo, Underwood is my go to round
