I came across this at Reddit this morning.

Anyone have any information about Vectan/Nobel Sport powder?  The comments didn't have any information about velocity, etc.

So, I tracked down some reloading data from the mfg site (http://www.vectan.fr/UK/reloading-charges).

Bullet:  170 grain
Powder Vectan:  SP-2
Charge:  9.6 grains
Primer:  LPP
Velocity:  879 fps

Bullet:  180 grain TMJ
Powder Vectan:  SP-2
Charge:  9.7 grains
Primer:  LPP
Velocity:  1,268 fps

Bullet:  200 grain TMJ
Powder Vectan:  SP-2
Charge:  9.6 grains
Primer:  LPP
Velocity:  1,236 fps

Interesting that the load for a 170 grain is such a softball, but the 200 is a hard hitter.  This looks like a great powder for heavy 10mm bullets.

But it doesn't appear there is an outlet for the powder in the US.  Perhaps a different label?

The 170grain is listed as MPS Pb/Cu, although not listed in their bullet abbreviations,  it may be a pressed powdered metal like that of SinterFire? ???

Pb being Lead and Cu being copper - It may be a Metal Plated Slug bullet.

I have heard of Vectan Powders but have never had any to use or study.
It seems to be tightly regulated. http://www.ipscstore.eu/en/powder/722-vectan-gun-powder-sp2.html

Their containers are similar to LoveX

Holy $4!7.

€56 for 1kg = $35/lbs.

I retract my request. :o

Dang...Can't check powder when flying.  Despite my protestations at cost I was thinking...i am gonna be in Europe in a couple weeks....Maybe I will spring for some.

But, no way to get it back home, so why bother.
