I am new to this board and find that it has a lot of great info on the 10mm. I have a G20 Gen 3. I have shot some of the Double Tap 10mm ammo as well as reloaded my own. I think my favorite load for my stock Glock 20 is 10 grains of Blue Dot and the 180 XTP bullet. While I have not chronographed it shoot well. I have always liked the 10mm as a powerful semi auto round but have never really looked to push the envelope for the 10mm in handloading for it. I have like the Glock 20 since it seems that the recoil is "softer" that an early Colt Delta Elite I shot years ago.

I am also looking to get a 1911 in 10mm, just not sure what to get. I looked at a Springfield Armory.

Have a great 10mm day.

Welcome to the board.

Lots of us like Blue Dot here, and that load sounds like a good one.  I would guess it would do about 1150-1200 out of your Glock.

STi, Dan Wesson and Fusion are all winners in a 10mm 1911.  Of course, you can also take any full-size 1911 in 40S&W and have your smith ream the chamber a bit.  That is how my Para 16-40/10mm was born.

Hello Sean and welcome to the forum!

Have you considered the Rock Island Armory 10mm it is a 1911 platform and some have raved about it's out of the box performance as such for the price point.

As sqlbullet mentions Fusion Arms and the other are also well liked and don't forget about the Kimber 10's as well.  The 1911's do have plenty options and aftermarket supplies.

I went the route of the S&W10xx series guns early on and like them for their strength and performance.  But lately parts are becoming harder to get as S&W announced No more parts.  :(

I am working with the G-20SF and G-29 more now for my shooting needs.

Best regars and enjoy the forum!  :D

I can vouche for both the Kimber and the Rock Island. I like the RI so much, I sent it off to have the black nitride treat ment. Both are very nice. Steve

I too can vouch for the Rock Island 10mm. Very solid, very smooth and at least in mine, a very good trigger right out of the box.

I have a Rock Island Armory 1911 in 9mm and I am going to give their 10mm a look. For the price it looks to be a good choice.

If you get the ria 10mm and have problems let me know odds are I've seen it with mine, it was a lemon but it is my normal carry now. I should also mention mine was a early run.

How do you like the RIA 10mm now and what is your carry load?

I love it now it and it is likely my favorite pistol. I have 165 grain hollow points on top of 180 grain gold dots both from underwood.
