I really like the conetrol guide rod idea.

But I have never been a fan of shock-buffs, and brass ones don't improve my opinion.  I do look forward to your report though.

I have one of Henning's conetrol guide rods in my 10mm Stock II. So I'm very curious about what, if any, difference these brass buffers will make. Thanks for volunteering!

It has stopped the "Trigger Bite" I get without it

The original Detonics recoil buffers that were part of the recoil rod assembly had a poly buffer sandwiched in between a pair of thin steel cover plates. I never had any of the poly buffer get chewed up or fall apart inside any of the Scoremasters that I owned.

Yes, but I think the idea is the brass will deform first.  The energy used to deform the brass doesn't' go into the frame.

Like I said, not a fan personally, but interested in the results none the less.

Here are my results running 10mm today 

New Henning brass shok-buff after 50 rounds of Underwood 180gr TMJ, 30 rounds of LAX 180gr FMJ and 25 rounds of Precision Cartridge 180gr LRN

I had some stoppages at all three power levels. Given that... just run the spring for the load and call it a day.

One of the biggest problems with EAA guns is that the spring tunnel is too long. To increase the "throw" you can take up to 0.20 off the spring tunnel (Match or other LS guns) and fit a shock buff in there that will not get chewed up, assuming you are using a quality spring (18 lbs).

In my carry weapon, I have an Elite Limited Pro (converted to SA) using this mod. I have also done this mod in the Match version. The 18 lbs spring does not "stack" about 0.250 in so I trimmed the tunnel 0.20. The weapon functions normally and the extra "throw" of the slide allows it to slow down a little more before striking the frame. Also, the slide has a scalloped lower area to assist in getting the spring and guide rod combo into the slide. It acts as a Guillotine on most shock buffs (see pictures above). When you trim the spring tunnel, the spring tunnel face becomes flat, allowing a better impact with the shock buff. Please use care and a systems approach (Shock buff, 18 lbs spring, Slide mods together) rather than picking and choosing. 10mm is a monster and needs thick chains to be harnessed.
