Took this thing to the range today for its 2nd outing and it was amazing. I zeroed the sites in to where they need to be. Last time I shot 50 armscor. It may as well be a glorified 40. Underwood's 40's would probably be stouter. I also shot 50 LAX which are decent. Kind of like a Remington load. Not bad.
This time I shot 100 rounds of UW 165 grain. Not one malfunction. Thing shoots dead on with little recoil even with this load. I'm thinking it has to be the fact that the match is all steel weighing in at nearly three pounds. Had my Glock 29 with me to compare it to and the recoil isn't the same beast at all. Felt kind of like shooting a somewhat hot 45 in a 1911. What an excellent gun for an affordable price!

  I'm glad you guys are liking the Match pistols. The big rail it has on it make is the heaviest frame of the bunch and that heft will give you a better recoil feel than a polymer pistol. When I had mine with the Hogue finger groove grip, nothing to date matched the hand feel.

The Elite Match is high on my list, that's for sure.  I would have already hit the "Buy it" button but I have another 1911 pistol coming in tomorrow or Wednesday.  Is there a Witness Protection program to keep from getting too many of these things?  Well other than my thinning wallet program.

I broke down and ordered an Elite Match, will pick it up tomorrow.  I'm starting to wish that I had discovered the Tanfoglio Witness line earlier, of course now is a good time as ever.

Anyone know if they make a 6 inch barrel that's compatible with this? Don't really have the funding to add a hunter to the line up at the moment.

Yes any EAA six-inch straight barrel will fit.  however like anything else some minor fitting may be involved.
A Hunter 10 mm barrel will fit for example.
