The _ Shadow recommended this forum to me and from what I've read it was a good recommendation. I see a few of you are rocking longslide solid top G20 ' s with 6.62" threaded barrels. I'm using the captured lonewolf steel guide rod as recommended by lonewolf.  And a 17# spring. What loads are you guys using and any recommendations on spring weight?

Shane, welcome to the forum!  Glad you decided to join the fun here.
Best regards!  :D

Shane, since you'll be using an ISMI spring in that setup, get the heaviest one you can, either 22 or 24 lb. I've tested a bunch of these springs; the ratings are false, and even the heaviest spring isn't too much.

I don't generally share load data, and pretty much only shoot my own cast bullets anyway, so what I have wouldn't help you much. However, your loads for this setup don't need to be anything different than any other 10mm, so just start with some book loads.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I've got a 20 and 22# spring and just ordered a 24# one. I primarily have hunted pig deer and the occasional turkey with my G24. I'm hoping to settle on a load for this 10mm and start racking up notches ;D

Chroned some Buffalo Bore 180gr XTP'S yesterday.  Box says 1350fps. I got an average velocity of 1470fps. That's a huge jump. Had some 200gr XTP handloads over 10gr of Blue Dot. They turned in a respectable 1200fps but I think I can do better.

Shane, welcome to the forum. .
I too just went to the range with
The 180 jhp buffalo bore..wow, those are some heavy rounds
Possibly will go out on the hunt for whitetail with the Blackhawk.

Welcome I have the same setup as you describe but I roll my own a 210 grain Hard Cast Flat Point over a dose of Longshot around 1250 FPS.

I am going to mill my upper for the RMR reddot this week. The LS runs flawless after about 250 rounds to get things smoothed out.

I upgraded to a 24# spring. Right now I've experienced no malfunction with handloads and weak factory ammo.
