I picked up a brand new Kimber Stainless Target II 10mm about a month ago. I bought a box of Remington 180 gr HP
and fired off the box of 50 without a hitch. I next tried a box of PMC 200 gr FMJ TC and right off the slide would not go
into full battery. I only got of two rounds after 10+ tries and picked different rounds out of the box and finally gave up.
Any one have any like experience or suggestions would appreciate some insight.

Did you clean the chamber?  Some guns with tight chambers can get some soot than may keep rounds form fully chambering.
Take the barrel out and check for headspacing after the cleaning.

I re-cleaned barrel and checked head space and is definitely ammo issue. In all the different pistols and ammo I
used over the years never had anything like this. This particular batch of PMC is not even close to chambering properly.
Thanks for the help.

Spider do you have a method to measure the case diameter and the total length of the cartridge?  calipers to measure with?

Take measurements at bullet seated diameter, just above the extractor cut diameter, these will need to be under 0.424"
Total overall length needs to be 1.2600" or less in length.

Do you know anyone close by that could re-work the cartridges?  Some one with a set of 40S&W dies or Lee FCD might could help restore them to a shootable condition!

Shadow - Thanks for your help and great info. I went back to the local gun shop where I bought the ammo and was
talking to the owner and we tried Federal, Hornady, and Remington UMC and all three dropped right in the barrel
chamber perfectly. He was gracious and exchanged for a different box of ammo which he didn't have to do and said
he would check out the cartridges and let me know what he found.

I shot the mentioned ammo out of my Colt DE without any problems like you are describing. Interesting.
